(Set during Daybreak Part II)
Kara and Lee silently watched Bill Adama and Laura Roslin's raptor fly away.
Lee spoke first. "Kara we're free."
"What?" said Kara.
"We're free. No more running from the Cylons. You don't have to be "Starbuck" any more. You don't have to follow your special destiny. I don't have to be "Apollo" or "the Admiral's son" any more," Lee declared.
Kara looked at Lee worriedly. "But Sam said, "find the perfect world for the end of Kara Thrace"--I think he meant this world. How do you know I won't just vanish into thin air?"
"We've come too far together Kara. We have been through so much and we have always come back to each other. Our souls are connected. When we work as a team we are unstoppable. We are best friends and soul mates. We need each other. We are meant to be together Kara, and we are finally mature enough to admit what we mean to each other. Besides, there's another way this world could be the end of Kara Thrace," Lee said.
Kara looked at him, confused, as Lee continued, "Kara, I've loved you from the minute I met you. Marry me, Kara. Leave Kara Thrace behind with Starbuck and your special destiny and your fears of being a frak up and start over--be Kara Adama, my wife."
"But what about the arrow of Apollo?" Kara asked.
"What the frak?" exclaimed Lee. "Kara, I'm serious."
"So am I. If you don't have to be Apollo any more does that mean there's no more arrow of Apollo? I don't know if I can marry you then," Kara said with a smirk and a mischevious look in her eye.
Lee groaned. "Kara, if you marry me I promise you I will use the "arrow of Apollo" (Lee winced, and Kara grinned at his discomfort) to frak you senseless any time you want. Will you marry me?" asked Lee.
Kara cried as she said "yes" and hugged Lee tightly.
With a shout of joy, Lee picked Kara up, flung her over his shoulder and carried her to where the other settlers were standing in the distance admiring their new home.
Lee soon located Romo Lampkin among the settlers. At Lee's request, Romo Lampkin performed the wedding ceremony, immediately, although the wedding ceremony was preceded by some grumbling from Romo about "not in my job description" and "lawyer, not a priest, next they'll want me to be a doctor too". Of course, true to form, right after the ceremony, Kara took up Lee on his offer regarding the arrow of Apollo. Lee was happy to oblige.
And Kara and Lee lived happily ever after.
Epilogue
Lee and Kara had a son, who they named Zak.
When Zak grew up, he married Hera Agathon and they had children.
Kara and Lee's love lives on in all of us.
