...
He ran in his sleep, like a dog having sweet dreams of chasing bunnies in dewy meadows. It greatly amused me as I sat next to him gently twirling locks of his hair between my thin fingers. He never talked in his sleep instead growled and yelped. He looked sweeter as he slept, the sarcastic smirk replaced with small satisfied smile.
I felt him stir, tossing and turning a couple times. He'd been out for a good 12 hours. The day before was filled with a large hunt each of us taking down more lions then we could stomach, followed by a passionate night that tired the poor pup out. I forcefully shook his shoulders knowing it took a great deal too wake him.
"Jake don't you think it's about time to get up?"I asked loudly
"No, no I don't think so."He said rolling away from me burying his head deep under the covers that covered the floor beside the broken bed frame.
"Wasn't there a game on this afternoon you wanted to watch?"I asked knowing sports was one of the few things that he preferred over sleep.
He let out a low growl which I guessed meant I was right. "It's about time for it too start you might want to get up so you'll have time to dress and eat before hand."
"God why most you be such a mother hen?"He said sitting up glaring at me.
"If I wasn't you'd never do anything but sleep."I hissed.
"You're just jealous bloodsucker, I can sleep and you can't!"He said in a taunting tone.
"If I did sleep I wouldn't be able to watch you chase rabbits like a good ol' fox terrier"I teased.
"I was actually dreaming of running down a coven of you filthy things."
He got up and pulled on his ratty old jeans. Alice had tried to give him a clothing overhaul once, it ended up with three thousand dollars worth of clothing in the trash covered in BBQ sauce and mud. Alice was none to happy and spent the next week stealing his tools out of his workshop and replacing them with shoes. I had to throw myself between the two of them before there was any blood shed.
"Don't even think about skipping your shower."I said hearing his thoughts of being not that stinking and he was good for at least two more days. "You smell like a wet dog and will be sleeping outside if you don't bathe."
"Get out of my head weirdo. I'll bathe later."
"No you'll shower now or there'll be no game, so help me Jake I'll brake that HD television you love so much."I growled. "And no that's not an idle threat, I'll do it."
"Fine mother I'll go bathe but I'm not washing my hair!"
He ran into the bathroom slamming the door before I could get another word out.
Why did I have to fall for a stinkiest mutt in the pack? At least Quil always smelled fresh for a werewolf.
