Chapter 1: Just What I Imagined.
It was the day I had imagined forever now. I knew I was a wizard deep down I always knew. The morning started just as every other day. I woke up to the sound of my mother calling my name for me to get up and start school. However since today was my eleventh birthday I got to stay home and relish in the moment I was preparing for my entire life. You see me and my family aren't your regular british family. We are a family filled with witches and wizards. My eldest sister before me went to school when the illustrious Harry Potter went to school. Ever since the day she left for school I always knew I would be going to Hogwarts school for witchcraft and wizardry. See my sister was always a smart kid so obviously when she got to Hogwarts she was placed into Ravenclaw. Now me and My twin brother are going to get are letters today. I am so hoping to become a Gryffindor. They are the bravest of all braves. My brother will definitely get into Gryffindor since he is the bravest eleven year old I know. But I just hope we are sorted together into the same house.
"Dean and Justin Davies come down here. Just because you guys get the day off from regular school doesn't mean that you can just abandon the sleep and perfect schedule we have been working on for several years." My mother yelled up the stairs to get us up again. I hopped out of bed and shook my brother from his slumber.
"Oy, come on then we need to get up. I'll let you get ready first mate. I'm going to go and talk to sis." I walked out of the room to allow my brother some privacy. I walked down to my sisters room where the door was slightly propped open. I walked in and found my sister reading a book about magical beast. See the thing I neglected to say about my sister is that she is in a wheelchair. You see when they had their big battle of Hogwarts between he who shall not be named and Harry Potter a lot of students got injured, and some even got killed. You see when the battle for Hogwarts was raging on I was only eight at the time. I knew nothing of what was going on back then. My sister could possibly use magic to fix her paralysis but she claims that it's her life now. And she has been making great strides to get rights for disabled witches and wizards.
"Hey sis." I walked into the room farther while talking and flopped on her neatly made bed.
"Hey you little punk. I just made that be a second ago. You know over in Hogwarts you can't get away with leaving your bed a mess like you do here. The prefects are strict especially in Ravenclaw." My sister gave out a bit of a laugh while speaking but I could tell that she was being serious. "But really Dean you have to realise what you can and cannot do over at Hogwarts. So luckily for you since I am such a nice sister and all I spent all night writing down the things you will have to remember on this sheet of paper." My sister just smirked and pulled out her sheet of paper. This is how I knew she was serious. My sister always loved showing off her magic no matter what. So for her to not use a spell on the piece of paper was definitely weird. I took the paper cautiously but determined enough. I unrolled the scroll and I saw a small but important list in front of me.
1. Listen to teachers.
2. Participate in any school event.
3. Never turn down a Butter Beer as long as you know who the person handing it to you is.
4. Stay out of ANY restricted section.
5. Use the Library for your advantage.
6. Don't worry about the sorting hat he knows best.
7. The stairs move so don't panic.
8. The house cup is the biggest prize in Hogwarts so try and stay out of trouble.
I laughed a little bit. "You forgot the Don't start a giant wizard war section." My sister just laughed and pushed me out of her room with a friendly shove. As I walked out into the corridor and saw my brother Justin stepping out with some neat and fancy clothes. He knew as well as I did that we would be wearing robes for the ENTIRE time we were there. My sister said that she gotta wear regular street clothes during the last few years she was there but that's just stupid and lazy of a school to do. I am sure they will make us wear our robes more than a couple of years. I however did walk into the room and pulled out my best clothes for this day. I walked downstairs and walked into the small corridor between the family room and the kitchen. I checked the small mailbox hanging off our house. The letters weren't there yet. I walked into the kitchen and opened up a small window letting the cold crisp morning air into the room. I walked over to the fridge and saw there was just enough cereal left for one bowl. I grabbed a cuppa apple juice along with my cereal and sat at the small round wooden table near the window. Today was the day I just kept telling myself. And sure enough as I was sitting at the table I heard the screech of an owl. I just sat and waited in anticipation of the owl to come. It flew right in threw the window and dropped two identical letters with a wax seal on the letter. I screamed Justin's name and he came running in from the family room. I threw him his letter and we opened them at the same time. The letter read thusly.

My mother came and snatched the letter from me. She looked over the list and nodded. "Alright boys when your father gets home we will be making a trip to Diagon Alley."
My father arrived home around 5 o'clock and clutched my brother and I as hard as he could. He was so proud that this day came. You see my father works for the ministry and he loved telling me about magic from a young age. My dad wants me and my son to be some of the best wizards to ever go down in history. My dad quickly rushed us to the fireplace and handed us some flu powder. We had practiced this a million times to make sure we don't say something wrong or mess up. I went second as my mother went first. I stepped into the fireplace and spoke firmly and clearly.
"DIAGON ALLEY!" I was whisked away through the green flames and smoke to the place that would serve my every need. Diagon Alley. The alley way was all twisted and tilted every which way. I stood with my mother as Justin appeared and then soon my father.
"Bloody Hell that always does a number on my lungs." My father proclaimed as he appeared right in front of me.
"Michael language." My mother scolded out at my father.
"Oops. Sorry boys I am not really use to the whole flu powder nonsense. I usually just walk, drive, or fly my broomstick anywhere." My father exclaimed as he lead us down the Alleyway. The shops and buildings that lined the alley made the whole alley come to life. The flying signs hanging above the doorways were meant to lure you into the shops. We saw it all from Quality Quidditch Supplies to Ollivander's wand shop. For every Gamble and Japes you had a Flourish and Bots. From Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions till The second hand robe shop. You get the point the Alley way was filled to the brim with all sorts of witches and wizardry instruments. Finally we reach the Gringotts Wizarding Bank. My father ushered us inside and my jaw nearly hit the floor. Inside we're all goblins working around the clock to make sure all of the banking was accounted for. Inside pillars supported the structure almost magically. In the far back behind all of the desks and paperwork was a picture of an previous employee who helped Harry in the war. This picture had a plack that read thus.
Griphook:
The only gobblin capable of doing what he did. He was the best at his craft. May your memory live forever and always.
My father pulled me away from the first desk as I watched a goblin file some paperwork and work on alimony and bank statements. We walked up to a large desk in the middle of the room and was greeted by a older female goblin. She reached down and took the two keys from my father's hand and nodded. She lead us down to a track that had a single minecart sitting stagnant. She ushered us into the cart and we took are seat. In a flash of a light they were down to vault 519. My parents explained to me and my brother that they had been saving up galleons and sickles ever since we were born. In total we had close to forty-five hundred thousand euros. Me and my brother took a small silk bag and filled it with as much as we could carry. Once we left the vault it was time to go and grab our supplies. First we stopped at Flourish and Blott's to grab out all of are needed books. After all of the books were paid for we ran down to the cauldron shop and bought ourselves each a single standard size two pewter cauldron. Luckily my parents came prepared because they grabbed a trolly to bring around with us. After grabbing everything else we needed and some nicknacks we loaded everything up into the trolly and set off to grab our robes. See since me and my brother are twins we already know what fits me will fit him and vice versa. Me and Justin have always been taller than all the other kids. An average boy are age was around four foot five but we were around four foot nine. Also just to add on me and my brother aren't really stocky boys we are both skinny and lanky boys. Mixed with our matching green eyes and curly blonde hair it was easy to spot us out in a crowd. We got the robes after a lengthy process of measuring and fitting. After grabbing our robes and a trunk we went to go and grab our pets for next year. I have always wanted an owl since the day my sister went off to hogwarts. See I have a fantastic memory and I can remember thing from back when I was just a wee lad. Well I still am a child but that's beside the point. We walked into the eeylops owl emporium. When I walked inside I didn't know what owl I was going to get but the second I laid eyes on him I knew I was in love. A smaller looking owl from all the rest. The owl was a brown barn owl that has a slight tint of red to his under feathers. His eyes were a light blue with a black stripe for a pupil. The owl caught my breath as I walked closer inside. Me and him shared glances and I almost immediately slammed my hand down on the counter leaving behind the correct change for the owl. Since it was a smaller owl of sorts he was on sale. My brother paid 4 galleons for his owl (an all white except the face with green eyes.) I only paid 2 for mine. I came up with a name almost instantly. His name was going to be Alexander. Next was the big ticket item. The one thing that made a wizard or witch become able to do magic. The wand was something I dreamed about my entire life but I never realised how nerve wracking it would be once this day came. We walked into the shop together as our parents stayed outside. Mr. Ollivanders wand shop was a shop like none the rest. The inside of the shop was old and run down. The boxes where the wands were kept were stacked high to the ceiling. The old boards from the second wizard war were amongst piles of empty wand boxes. Out of the shadows came and older man presumably Mr. Ollivander himself. With him was a girl about the same age of my sister. This girl was more oriental looking with long black hair. She was rushing around grabbing empty boxes while talking to Mr. Ollivander.
"Cho just settle down your doing fine." Mr. Ollivander exclaimed as Cho ran around. "Why hello young boys what can I do for you guys today." Mr. Ollivander was staring solely at us as if he was evaluating us.
Justin spoke up before I did. "We would like a wand Mr. Ollivander. You see me and my brother are twins so that means we should get the same type of wand right." Mr. Ollivander just stared and waited.
"Not necessarily. You see boys a wand is much more than just an instrument for magic. It expresses your personality. It is what guides you through life. So were you sir are more of a brave type your brother here might be more shy which therefore leads to a different wand." I shrunk my face down into my shirt trying to hide my embarrassment from Mr. Ollivander. It didn't work and he for sure noticed. "I'm sorry boy I didn't mean to offend. But I think I have your wands in mind." He turned around and my brother slapped me on the arm. Mr Ollivander returned with two different boxes. He set one in front of me and he set one in front of Justin. We grabbed our wands at the same time and opened up the boxes. My brother looked at his wand then back to mine and just as Mr. Ollivander had explained we had different wands. My brother grabbed out his wand and had a glowing golden light surround him.
"Ahhhh. Very interesting Mr. Davies. Very Interesting indeed. You see your wand is a Cypress, Phoenix Feather, eleven inches, Surprisingly Swishy. It is a wand that demands more patience and time. If you use this patience and time correctly you will have a wide range of magic. Use this one wisley." Mr. Ollivander was now staring directly at Justin as he explained his wand to him. Mr. Ollivander just nodded and bagged up the box. He turned to me and ushered me to grab the wand. I slowly started to take out my wand. I grabbed my wand and waited. And waited. But nothing happened. Mr. Ollivander gave a interested hum.
"Go ahead and flick your wrist." Mr. Ollivander ushered. So I listened and sure enough. Once I flicked my wrist the wand reacted. The wand also started to glow like my brothers just not as bright.
"There we go. You see Mr. Davies wands react differently with each people. Your wand Is a Ebony wood with a Unicorn hair core ten and three fourth inches and Slightly Yielding flexibility. The unicorn hair will produce the most consistent magic. They are more suited for the pure of heart and rarely turn to the dark arts. They are the most faithful of wands. Take good care of your wand and your wand will take good care of you." Mr. Ollivander was explaining to me as he bagged up my wand. I just nodded and stayed quiet. We left Ollivanders with our wands and everything on two trolleys we went back home and unpacked. The trolleys folded up on themselves and disappeared back to Diagon Alley once the items were unpacked. I went up to talk to my sister but she had gone out to the store to grab some items. I sighed a little and went to lay on my bed. I grabbed my wand out of its case and held it with both of my hands barely cuping it. The wand was etched in cobblestone like patterns on the handle. The black ebony wood stood out against my pale and peachy white skin. I placed my wand on my side table as my Brother came into the room.
"Bruv mum told me that we don't have to go to school anymore. At least we don't need to go to private school anymore. See the train leaves at eleven am on the eleventh. Lucky that our Birthdays fall on the twenty-second of August huh." My brother exclaimed.
"Yeah lucky. But hey i'm feeling a little bit tired. I am going to bed." I said rolling over to look at my brother.
"Yeah me to. See you tomorrow bruv." My brother flipped off his lights and rolled over to face his back towards me. I followed suit and soon fell asleep.
I awoke to my brother screaming out in pain. Today was the day Today was the eleventh. I jumped out of my bed and turned to face my brother.
"Yo what happened mate." I said rushing over to aid my brother.
"It was your bloody wand. I wanted to mess with you and move your wand and it burned me the second I touched it." Justin proclaimed as he stared down at his hand. I looked over at my wand which was laying stagnant on the bedside table. I picked it up with ease and checked it out for any damages. 'Oh what the. I touch your wand and I get a second degree burn you touch it and it does nothing." Justin said exasperatedly.
"Do you remember what Mr. Ollivander told me. My wand is faithful. I was doing some research and I found that Unicorn hair in wands make the wand extremely loyal to its first owner which happens to be me. So when you touched my wand the unicorn hair thought you were trying to steal it. It simply went into self defence mode." I explained to a rather confused Justin. He just nodded and acted like he understood everything I was talking about. I just rolled my eyes and gave him a friendly shove. We started to get ready as we heard are mother coming up the stairs. I was throwing on my undergarments that we bought with the robes under some more formal but casual looking clothes. We headed out of our room and walked down the stairs. We lived about fifteen minutes away from the train station and it was already nine forty five. Time flew by as we ate and got all of our bags and trunks packed. My sister wheeled out of her room and floated her chair down the stairs. She was wearing a nice black blazer with a Ravenclaw scarf around her neck and a simple pair of black dress pants. My sister was coming with us to join in on the festivities. She had gone through this before. The whole going through platform nine and three quarters. Are family headed out and drove to the train station. We unpacked all of our Hogwarts belongings and started to walk into the station. My sister stayed relatively quiet during the ride over as did my brother. This was especially weird since they are the two talkative siblings. I have always been a more quiet type. I don't really make a scene. I am not the life of any party. I am simply just a person who is there. A friend that is there to help you any means necessary. If you want that kind of guy thats me. So to have my sister and my brother being so quiet on the ride over here struck me as odd. I just struck it up to nerves and kept on walking with trolly in hand. Once we reach platform nine and ten we saw a couple of older wizards running into the brick in between the platforms. Both me and my brother looked up at our mother and father giving them the most curious of looks. My sister however just chuckled and ran headfirst straight into the wall. She was gone in a flash. My brother just laughed and pulled his trolley through. I hesitated as my mother followed the two. I looked down at the watch I was wearing on my wrist. Ten twenty was the time. My father who was still behind me bent down beside me and grabbed my shoulder.
"Don't worry son I've got you." He said as he grabbed on to the edge of my trolley. He pushed the cart along with me as we ran into the wall ourselfs. On the other side there was a huge seperate train station with a train called the Hogwarts Express. The train was around 12 passenger cars long with each car having two four room compartments. Some of the cars were used for luggage to. Me and my father caught up to my mother who was scolding my sister and brother for running off ahead. My brother and sister just laughed it off and greeted us to platform nine and three quarters. A train conductor lead me and my brother onto the train. He took are luggage to one of the train cars and folded it inside. Even with all of our new book, robes, cauldrons, and other miscellaneous items he was able to fold the trolley almost like a sheet of paper. My brother and I stepped onto the train one slow step at a time. The train was a little crowded with students all rushing to find a place to sit. Me and my brother were lucky enough to find an empty compartment. We slid into the compartment and started to settle in. We opened the window and waved to our parents and sister letting them know that we had a seat. Our family came rushing over. I looked down at my clock. Ten fifty five. We watched on as our family gave that always cheesy but sweet at the same time farewell wave. I look down at my watch again this time the watch reads ten fifty nine and fifty seconds. Me and my brother counted down.
Ten
Nine
Eight
Seven
Six
Five
Four
Three
Two
And……. One
The train started to move right on time as we left the station. Me and my brother closed the window and buckled ourselves in for a long but worth it ride. We grabbed out a package of beans we grabbed in Diagon Alley and started to pick through the flavors. The we suddenly heard a voice coming from the doorway.
"Why are you guys leaving out all of the best ones." The mystery boy proclaimed. Me and my brother jumped back both startled by the boy. "Oh… I'm terribly sorry wear are my manners. My name is Olivier Hunter. I am a first year just like you two. I was just passing through and I saw you picking around some of the best bean flavors like watermelon and cinnamon. Do you mind if I sit with you two?" Oliver asked softly. For once I was the first to speak up.
"Not at all. Come here and seat. My name is Dean and this is my brother Justin. We are twins from the Davies family." I said as I patted the seat next to me. I ushered my hand towards the beans letting Oliver know that he could obviously have some. Just as Oliver came and sat down another knock came at our compartment door. A girl opened the door and asked a simple question.
"Has anyone seen where my blasted cat has gone of too?" She said as she searched the car. My eyes and her eyes locked for a solid two to three seconds. Her eyes were like a velvety blue with a small hint of purple. Her brunette hair flowed smoothly down to her shoulders. The moment was so little but from my perspective it felt like a lifetime. She pulled her flush face away from car and looked down at the ground. I did as well. "Well my name is Sofia Wood. If you find my cat please return him. He is small and completely grey with green eyes." I could barely hear her talk as I was fixated on what just happened. My brother didn't look away from his wizard card he got from the beans container as her exclaimed.
"Will do." She turned and walked to the next car her face as red as the seat cushion. My face felt heated as I turned back to the cards. My face must not have only felt hot but it must have been red as all hell. My brother looked up at me with a puzzled look on his face.
"Hey Dean are you ok? Your looking a little flush." My brother never called me by my first name unless he was worried about something. I just nodded in agreement signaling that I was ok. And I was ok for the most part. I was just so baffled by Sophia. Me Oliver and my Brother sat around in the same car for about another hour just talking about the second wizard war and what it was like for Oliver and his parents. Oliver was a darker boy definitely not caucasian. Oliver had a golden looking skin tone and matched with black hair and hazel eyes. We were about to talk about quidditch once we heard another knock onto the door. This time a second girl stepped into the car.
"Hey guys so this is a weird question but can I sit with you guys. I hate girls my age they all talk about boys and makeup and blugh girly stuff." The girl exclaimed. Again we all excepted. The girl was a pasty white with long black hair. She didn't dress as a goth but she didn't dress like your typical girly girl. She was wearing a flannel with a solid red shirt underneath and some jeans. She definitely came from a different part of england that where I live. She was really cool though.
"So uh what's your name?" I asked while staring at random things in the car.
Us four now sat together eating and eventually running out of food. About four hours into our train ride we heard a knock at our door.
"Oh sorry yeah my name is Evie. Evie Parker." She stuck out her hand for us to shake.
"Would you like anything from the trolley dears?" an old sweet lady came up to the door with a trolley full of sweets. Everyone looked around and nodded. Everyone started to grab out the last few galleons they had left. Luckily for me I saved my galleons and sickles from when we grabbed our money in Gringotts. I pulled out around ten galleons and twenty sickles. I told the old sweet lady to grab us one of everything and a little more for the road. She smiled and pulled out a box that seemed new. On the side of the box read the Harry deal. The box contained one of every assorted candy they had on the trolley and then she handed me a couple more packages of beans and chocolate frogs. She charged me five galleons for the entire haul and wished us a good day. As she went about her day we feasted on candy and more candy. Eventually we were told by a helpful conductor that the train would be arriving at Hogwarts in about a ten minutes. He explained to us that if we did not have are robes on to put them on before we get off the train. Eventually we all took turns standing guard as one person changed into their robes. Without us knowing what houses we would be sorted into we wore black undershirts with grey stripes at the neck and wrist. As we pulled up to the Hogsmeade station all the students poured out in a single file line. As we walked through the tiny town of Hogsmeade we noticed a couple of shops. We noticed a local pub that served butter brew. We saw a sign that promoted the building where the first Dumbledore Army meeting was held in secret. It was a small town with barely any lights lining the streetway. However it almost felt homey. We reached the edge of the lake around five o'clock. We were told that we needed to paddle our boats over to Hogwarts. The jolly giant was leading us through the lake navigating the twist and turns. Eventually it was in sight. The first sight of Hogwarts was awe inspiring. The big castle was illuminated through the night sky with the millions of lights inside. The castle sat upon this clift and mountain side which just added to the magic of it all. The spires were just barely visible from the fog from the lake. The castle was two beautiful to put into words. From the boat house to the highest spire and pillar all of Hogwarts was amazing. We rowed towards the lit up boat house. As hundreds of students unloaded from the boats we all gathered around the boathouse and congregated. Eventually we were interrupted by a new guide. The guide was an older man possibly in his late sixties early seventies.
"Hello everybody and welcome to Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. My name is and professor flitwick. I will be your charm professor and I will be leading you to the great hall." The small professor lead us up a flight of stairs and near the main doors of the Great Hall. He opened up the door to a huge room lined with pillars and supporting struts that were helping hold up the ceiling. In the sky were candles floating above us burning as we walked. The candles magicly never dropped a single drop of wax. I had no idea how they did it. And a part of me doesn't want to know. The room was lined with tables in neat and straight rows. Older students and even students from last year were sitting near at the tables. The tables were set apart by house. Gryffindor was the first table farthest to the right. The Gryffindor's were known to be brave and courageous. The nearest table to the right was the Ravenclaw. The Ravenclaw have grown a reputation on being ones whom value intelligence, creativity, and learning. The farthest table on the left were reserved for the Slytherin. Slytherin were always known to be cunning, ambitious, and resourceful. The last table was the nearest table on the left. This table was reserved for Hufflepuff. The house that only few people like. The Hufflepuffs have always been known for their loyalty, hard work, and patience. We were taken to the front of the Great Hall in front of the massive administration table. In front of Mrs. McGonagall was a stool and the sorting hat. Knowing our names we were expecting to go early. Oliver got called out of the four of us. The sorting hat took his time. And then………….
Hufflepuff.
Oliver looked happy that he got Hufflepuff. He walked over to the Hufflepuff table and took a seat. Ironically the next one up out of us was Evie. She took no time at all.
Slytherin.
Evie took her green scarf and ran over to the Slytherin table. It was nice and reassuring to know that one decent Slytherin was in their class. Next was Sophia. That girl with the beautiful blue and purple eyes. That girl with the long brunette hair. She was sorted………
Hufflepuff.
I started to cheer with the rest of the school for this time and only this time. Until finally the last three were up. Lennox Rees was the next kid to go. He was an arrogant no good boy who would most likely cause some trouble down the road. He went up to the sorting hat and……..
Gryffindor.
The gryffindor table hooped and hollered for their new recruit. Me and my brother were the last two. Who would have guessed this. My brothers name is called. My brother walks up all nonchalant and sits onto the stool. The hat goes on……. It deliberates……… and then finally…..
Gryffindor.
The table erupts again about getting a new recruit. I go up finally…….. A dramatic pause as I wait for my name to be called.
"Dean Davies." Mrs. McGonagall stated. I walked up to the stool. The hat was placed upon my head.
"Hmmmmm. Yes this one is different than all the rest. I see potential in this young boy. You are timid and loyal. Therefore you shall go into……….." The suspense is killing me. But finally……..
Hufflepuff.
A/N:
Hello Ladies and Gentleman or anything in between. This is the start of something great…… I hope. I am a Hufflepuff at heart so I wanted to give us a hero of sorts he is just really an adorable bumbling mess. Please review and tell me what happens to be your house. I am making this a Harry Potter "AU". I put AU in such strong quotations because it is an AU in the fact that this never happened in the actual lore friendly stories and facts. But this is strictly based on the true lore of Harry Potter. I of course will change some things if I deem necessary like Cho being an apprentice for Ollivander and Flitwick now being the Assistant Headmaster. I really hope you guys will like this story I want to keep writing it. If you guys are reading this and are Steven Universe fan I am also writing two stories based on Lapis and Peridot. Welp I think that just about does it. Ok stay awesome my Puffs, Gryfs, Sthys, and Claws.
P.S: Any Slytherin out there can you tell me what the hell your abbreviation is. I know Puffs, Gryths and I am just making up Claw but what is slytherin. Let me know in a review if you do. A review is highly appreciated.
