A little story about Lyndsay and Ranulf. Enjoy!
I still couldn't believe he was leaving again. This is the second time in 2 weeks. I knew this was going to happen if I got involved with a Greil mercenary/Galeia troop leader, but this is ridiculous. Ranulf and I have been lovers for the past year and this kind of stuff is getting normal for me, but right now it's out of control. He leaves and I don't see him for a week. Two at max. I love Ranulf with all of my heart, but he needs to cut back on this work. I sighed as I watched the mercenaries talk about the battle plan. I was really paying attention. I was going to do the same thing I do every time they leave: babysit Mist and Rolf. Don't get me wrong, I love them with all my might, but it gets boring at times. I finally just got up and went to my tent. No need for me to be out there. I collapsed on my bed on my back. I put my hands behind my head and stared at the top of the tent. I was just closing my eyes when I heard my tent flap open slightly.
"Who is it?" I asked, not opening my eyes.
"Who else?" The voice replied. My eyes shot open and I sat up.
Ranulf was standing with his arms crossed, shifting his weight on one leg.
"Sorry." I mumbled. I collapsed back on the bed. He walked over and took a seat on the edge.
"What's wrong, Lyndsay?" He asked, as he took my hand.
"Why do you have to leave, Ranulf?" I asked finally. It went silent for a split moment.
"It's my duty. Trust me, I don't want to leave." He chuckled slightly.
"Then, ask for time off. Ranulf, I haven't been able to see you for the last four months. We barely talk anymore. We haven't been 'intimate' with each other since then." I told him, as I retrieved my hand. I tucked my knees under my chin and pouted softly.
"I could probably ask Ike if I could." He told me with a smile. I looked up at him.
"Really?" I asked, hopefully. He nodded.
"Thank you, Ranulf." I whispered. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his warm chest. His chest was rumbling from his purring. His tail was tickling the little crevice in my neck. I giggled softly.
"I love you, Lyndsay. I always have and I always will." He whispered in my ear.
"I love you too, Ranulf. I will always wait for you. Faithfully and patiently." I whispered back.
"No matter where I go, you're still the one and only girl on my mind." He retrieved his head enough to plant his lips on mine. It was the first passionate kiss Ranulf gave me in a long time. The kiss lasted until my tent flap opened again. It was Boyd.
"Hey, lovebirds. Ike wants everyone out here." He then left. Ranulf got up and grabbed my hand. I got up and we headed out of the tent. Ike and everyone else was polishing or sharpening some type of weapon.
"We leave in 5 minutes!" Ike announced. Everyone nodded and went back to their business. I just went back in the tent, with Ranulf trailing behind.
"Ranulf, am I pretty?" I asked, out of the blue.
"Of course your pretty. You're the most beautiful girl I have ever met. Why would you ask that?" He asked me.
"Well, you go on so many adventures, to so man exotic places and I always think about the girls you meet there. I always think that you'll leave me for one of those prissy sluts." I told him, as I put my head down.
He cupped my face in his hands and made me look deep into his blue/red eyes.
"I would never leave you. I might meet a million pretty girls out there and sure they know my name, but that doesn't mean I'll leave you for one of them. You are the only one that has my heart." He told me.
"Wherever you go, do you think about me?" I asked. He kissed my forehead and looked at me and smiled at me.
"Worldwide."
