Ok hey, hello, it's me hi, yeah so I was watching batman last night and it hit me, write a batman fanfic. So I decided to oblige my thoughts.

Prologue.

The leaves rustled noisily in the night as the wind rushed through them. The moon was high in the sky. All people in Gotham city were sound asleep. That is all, except one man.

Sitting alone at a huge computer, typing furiously was a man. He was drabbed all in black. Infact, he was dressed, like a bat.

The only light in the place was the light coming from the computers screen. The clock beside him read '2:30'. But still he typed away.

Suddenly the wall behind him opened, to reveal the silhouette of a man. The man moved from the wall and stepped up beside the costumed man. "Sir, I beg you, please give up this folly, there is no way to be sure, no matter how hard you look". The costumed man ignored the newcomer. "Go away Alfred" he murmured.

Alfred sighed. "As you wish sir, when Master Dick wakes up and Miss Gordon arrives, I shall send them down to you." He turned and left 'The Dark Night' to his work.

The Dark Night turned to the wall as Alfred disappeared behind it. He glared.

Suddenly there was a noise. The Dark Night stood and looked out into the blackness the surrounded him. Instead of calling out 'who's there' like so many idiots do in those movies do, he went into full 'Bat Patrol' mode.

He grabbed out his Bat light and scanned the area. Nothing....

He turned it towards the Bat mobile. Still nothing.....

He sighed. "Get a grip Bruce...." He turned back around. He went to sit back down when he heard another noise. This time it was closer.

He swung around with his Bat light on. "You....." He called at the figure he could now see. "Yes, Batman....It is me, or should I call you Mr Wayne?" The figure asked. Then it laughed a deafening screech.

Suddenly Batman was surrounded by dozens of his own nightmare creatures, they were holding him down, how? "They couldn't do this before" He observed coolly as he was dragged towards the intruder. "Yes, Bats, can I call you Bats, I hear everyone is..."

Batman, ever the defiant, said nothing. "Well I will, so just be quiet" The figure said as if having a private conversation with an invisible force. "You shouldn't exist, you are a dream, how can you exist?" Batman asked.

The figure laughed. "Oh Bats, I am much more then that" And suddenly everything, Batman, and the nightmare creatures disappeared. Leaving Batman's computer, flickering between screens.

"Match found, match found, match found". The computer replayed this message, no-one there to answer.
