Disclaimer : I will be including things like alcohol, smoking, sex, drugs, homosexuality, as well as dealing with mental health and gender issues, so if they bother you, please don't read this then kick up a fuss. I'm always up for talking to people about it, but reserve it for PMs yeah? They will be tagged accordingly in each chapter, and nothing explicit.

This is a story set in the The Walking Dead universe, but in Scotland, where I live. As such it will be entirely populated with OCs, but it will most definitely contain those dragging corpses we all know and love... love? Somewhat.

So far, I have it planned out from moving between Aberdeen City, to Glasgow-ish. If anyone is interested in checking those areas out on Google maps or something.
I like to have a good grasp of the geography of where I'm writing about. It starts just at the beginning of term, so the beginning of September. The outbreak has just reached the city.

Characters, so far:

Nathaniel McConnell ; One of the main characters here, the story will be told from his point of view. A seemingly easy to read, albeit mightily changeable guy. I don't want to reveal too much about him, but he will most definitely be one of the biggest forces in keeping his friends together, because ever since he was younger he had an utter fear of a potential apocalypse and well, did a lot of reading and collecting of things that might help. Genetics university student in his second year - 19 years old.

Katie Swan ; One of Nathaniel's flatmates. They met in his first year of university. Also studying genetics, and also 19 years old - their birthday is very close together. Rather intelligent if somewhat unmotivated. A decent cook, and almost as short as Nathan himself. Most definitely never paid that much attention the impending doom that Nathan believed was going to befall them immediately, so takes a certain amount of time to adjust. Friendly enough, if a bit shy, a bit anxious.

Michael Hunt ; Nathan and Katie's second (and last flatmate). Studying anatomy. He doesn't really understand social interaction. Honestly, he doesn't understand much. He is the typical cliche of intelligent, but no sense kinda guy, which is extremely highlighted when trying to talk to someone. He's the tallest of the trio, and the scariest looking despite being 'too dumb to hurt anyone' - Nathan's words, not mine! - 18 years old.

Elise Reagan ; Nathan's girlfriend. They live apart, with her beginning her first year of university in Glasgow, where Nathan's (and Katie's and Michael's) parents also live nearby, give or take. Remarkably intelligent but suffering from social anxiety which makes her seem much less so in certain situations. Rather naive in a way, hoping things might turn out all right without really paying attention to the extent of the problem. - 17 years old.

Patrick Douglas ; A friend of the trio after having some classes with them. He's loud, what some people might call obnoxious, but he is just optimistic despite being similar to Nathan and having plenty of preparation for the end of the world. Like Nathan in many ways except this man makes friends much easier than Nathan ever will. - 19 years old.

Jeremy and Laura McConnell ; Nathan's parents. Very backwards in a way - we all know what parents can be like, right? Very conservative, judgmental. Nathan has never gotten along with them but feels a sense of duty all the same in helping them, in getting back to them. In getting home. And they feel a deep sense of duty to reach and help him in any way possible, to survive the apocalypse, like any parent would be. Even if they are salty about his life choices.

Kassie McConnell ; You might think it's stupid that Nathan's dog is getting a mention in the character list. But she is a very important dog! Lives with Jeremy and Laura. According to Nathan she is the most beautiful dog in the world, but he may be biased. Nathan and Kassie have a deep, important, pivotal kinship, a friendship that can't be overpowered, even by the apocalypse.
