It had been four days, twenty-two hours, fifteen minutes, and twenty-five no now twenty-six seconds since she had Maura in her arms, the warmth was gone. Her ceiling became even more familiar, sleepless nights become a common occurrence as the feeling of missing her stabbed her entire body. When she did close her eyes, Maura's smile would be there causing her breath to hitch and her thoughts to race.
The blonde woman's perfect lips, she wasn't broken hearted she was missing the blonde woman. She did not want to give up, she wanted her back. Anything to get her back, they still looked at each other with the looks that they have always given. They weren't done yet, the flame was still burning. It was time for her to get Maura back, quickly tossing the covers aside Jane ran to her closet and drawers and pulled out some clothes. Not seeing what she grabbed she tossed them on and made her way out the door.
Twenty minutes later she sat in her car looking at the front door, ten minutes later she stood in front of the door memories hitting her mind and her breath running shallow. Five minutes later she rung the bell, and two and a half minutes later the door swung open and Maura stood in front of her. A minute after that she was inside the familiar house with the love of her life looking at her, Jane took a deep breath hoping that a miracle would happen.
"I miss you." Jane whispered, it would have gone unheard but inside the quiet house Maura heard it loud and clear.
"You are the one who left." Maura whispered back but with more of an edge as tears welled up, Jane moved to where she was directly in front of Maura. Lifting her hand she wiped the tear away that was beginning to fall.
"I know, and for that I am sorry. I was afraid, but now these four almost five days I have been killing myself because all I want is you. I was wrong, and I know it isn't an excuse but I am not afraid anymore. I will never give up on this love again; I am not giving up on us." Jane replied as she looked into Maura's eyes. Time seemed to pass to the point where Jane thought she would be told to leave but instead; Maura took ahold of Jane's hands and led her towards her bedroom.
Once inside Maura cupped Jane's face in her hand, slowly two met in a kiss. It was a quick kiss but it was gentle and loving, everything was said in that kiss. Their eyes met when the kiss broke and slowly the settled into the bed and held the other; just lying in the bed holding each other was all they needed. Falling asleep they both had smiles on their faces.
"I love you, Maura." Jane whispered.
"I love you too, Jane. Now stay here with me." Maura replied back in a whisper.
"Always." Came the simple reply that spoke volumes, it was a time for miracles and Jane every day thanked whatever being was out there that allowed her to be back in Maura's arms.
