The camera panned from the moon down to a house. Peter was flipping burgers on a grill and Spencer was sitting beside him.

"Oh! Okay here's one!" Peter announced, turning towards Spencer. "I used to work at a blanket factory but the factory folded!" He started laughing with her.

"Geez," Melissa sighed. "One way ticket to Squaresville."

"Uh-oh, Melissa's bored," Peter replied jokingly. "I guess we should talk about something more interesting like- oh, I don't know, her birthday?"

"You must be so stoked!" Spencer added.

"Come on, princess. What's your biggest birthday wish?" he asked.

"Dad, I already told you what I wanted!" Melissa groaned.

"A reasonable wish," he replied seriously.

"Oh, just forget it! Doesn't matter anyway," Melissa snapped.

Spencer gasped.

Peter turned towards her. "Doesn't matter?" he replied, closing the grill. "Listen, Melissa. This family lives by rules. As you get older-"

"I'll appreciate the importance of those rules. Fine! Whatever!" Melissa snapped. "You're the boss."

Peter shrugged and turned back towards the grill, opening it back up and flipping the burgers again.

Spencer got up and walked towards the picnic table her sister was at. "Melissa, what's the best way to get a guy to ask you to a dance?" she asked as she set the table.

"What?" Melissa asked in an annoyed tone, looking at her.

"I mean, there's this guy at school. He's in your class," Spencer replied. "And I really-"

"And you want him to ask you out," Melissa interrupted, standing up and looking at her annoyed.

"Yeah," Spencer replied. "To the Magnolia Ball on Saturday."

"Why are you bothering me with this?" Melissa sighed. "Who cares?" She turned away from her and walked towards the fire pit, standing in front of it with her arms crossed over her chest.

"I-" Spencer replied. "Well, you're my big sister... You always-" She paused. "We always-" She looked back up at Melissa's back and sighed. "Gosh, you don't need to be so grumpy. Is something wrong?" The fire went up a little more.

"Hey, what's going on?" she asked, walking towards her.

"Around here? Nothing!" Melissa scoffed.

"You're acting really strange," Spencer raised an eyebrow, walking closer to her. "Come on, let's talk about it." She turned Melissa towards her so they were facing each other. "We sisters have gotta stick together right? Like mom always said."

"Yeah? Well mom didn't exactly stick with us! Now did she?" Melissa snapped, poking her finger against Spencer's chest.

"Melissa-" she started to say.

"Look, things change. I'm almost an adult," Melissa reminded her, turning away from her and walking towards the door. "Go enjoy your family time. I'm onto bigger things," she added, walking inside the house and closing the door.

Spencer's face fell more and she looked at her wrists, noticing that a charm on her bracelet had fallen off. She got down on her hands and knees, trying to find it.

"Come on, princesses!" Peter's voice rang out. "Let's eat!"

Spencer got back up and worriedly looked at her charm bracelet.

Later...

Melissa opened the back door of their house, looking around to make sure no one was outside and running out the door.

Spencer pushed a curtain back and saw her sister running towards the cliff near the house and ran away from the window to catch up with her, hiding behind a rock so she wouldn't be seen. Melissa stood near the edge, arms straight out and looking like she was waiting for something. A red ball of light appeared in front of Melissa, causing her to glow.

Spencer slowly walked towards her and watched her, gasping when she disappeared.

A/N: I got this idea after seeing a PLL opening with the Bratz song.
