Sitting on a cold stone was a girl. Her silky white hair was neatly tied up, leaving two strands to fall over her ears. Some could say she looked adorable, but those who knew her, would always fear to look her straight in the eye, for it was the relfection of soul, and her soul was dark as the night that covered up all the hurt she went through, and the insanity she longed to set free.
She lifted herself from the ground, and walked over to the entrance of dark castle, swaying with hips nonchalantly, unaware that somebody is observing her closely from the shadows. It became almost a habit to him, to watch her, and admire her. At times he even forgot about his plans of dominance over whole magic dimension, and just daydreamed about how wonderful it would be if both of them weren't this prideful, too prideful to speak and show their true feelings. He was aware she fell for him the very first time they saw each other, back then, in Omega dimension. But now something was off, and he felt it. He was slowly realizing she's slipping away from his grasp, from the grasp of the puppeteer he was.
Walking down the hall of Cloud Tower, she didn't fail to notice that the shadows are dancing in the dim light of candles, and reaching for her as she's moving forward, as if asking her to join their danse macabre. 'Is this another stage of magic?', she asked herself, unsure about the surroundings reacting this way on her presence. Never in her life has this castle acted this way towards her, as if she was a stranger, even when she first arrived here – it seemed to recognize her. Was it because the headmistress was locked up in cell? Was it because of Valtor…? Was it because of her? Was it her fault? Did she lose herself in this madness called life? She never could handle it too well…
She took a turn and stopped, staring at the darkness before her. It was a dead end, or so it seemed. Looking down, she pondered upon walking further, through the secret passage she discovered during her second year here. But just as she was about to reach to activate the hidden door, she realized somebody's lingering presence. Turning around, she faced no other man than Valtor himself. 'Did he follow me?', she frowned in thought.
He couldn't help but smirk at the sight of her lack of trust towards him, of her uncertainty about his faithfulness. He wasn't surprised upon seeing this kind of look in her usually cold, hollow eyes. He got used to it by now. He didn't even mind it to some point. But they've already spent a lot of time together, and still, her trust seemed to only lessen day by day. 'Maybe she has a hunch about what's about to come', he thought, smirk on his face widening. She was always smart, always managing to see through his plans and point out his mistakes. Then how come she never was able to defeat few clueless fairies? 'She's unable to commit a crime, unable to murder', he explained to himself for yet another time. He couldn't understand her. He never was able to discover the scheme of her thoughts. How could she, in her all cruelty and evilness, how could she be unable to kill?
"Icy," he finally spoke, breaking the eerie silence. He could swear he saw her narrowing eyes at his fakely soft voice, but maybe it was just a shade of dim light from candles that crossed her face?
Or has she felt the incoming betrayal?
