Author's note:
Please note that I wrote this story BEFORE ep. 11 (Heroes and Villains) and so it is not following the canon storyline about rumple leaving town or that Henry found the author's house.
Besides that and I hope you enjoy this story! ︎

Henry Mills was now heading to the one place all of his family members agreed he should never go, (except for operation mongoose) Mr. Gold's pawn shop. Although technically Mr. Gold was family and as a matter of fact, that was what had brought on this very visit. Henry didn't usually count him as family. It wasn't that Mr. Gold hadn't changed, he had changed, It was just that after everything, no one one was really sure. If Belle (his step gramma) was around everything was totally okay. The problem was when Belle wasn't around. Henry gulped, imagining the worst, but Mr. Gold was his grandpa and today was Grandparents Day. He"d seen all his other grandparents! He'd spent the morning with his gramps and gramma (his Ma Emma's parents), the afternoon in the graveyard with his mother Regina because his Grandpa Henry (who he was named after) and Grandma Cora were there. He also visited his dad's grave and that is what reminded him he had to give the present he'd made for his other grandpa to him. And so that is what brought him here.
Henry walked up to the shop and walked in, the little bell rang as it always did announcing his presence. "Sorry we're closed today," came his grandpa's voice from the other side of the shop. His grandpa then came walking towards him and after getting a glance at him said "Henry what are you doing here?" His voice was softer than normal. "It's the weekend I thought you were going to work for me on weekdays," added.
"Yeah, I know. I came because today's Grandparents Day and I know everyone is really worried about the whole Snow Queen situation but my moms decided we should celebrate Grandparents Day and you're my grandpa so I kind of wanted to come. Also I have to make it quick cause my moms are waiting outside".
Mr Gold was surprised at first but after a second or two said "Oh, well thank you Henry".
"Sure," replied the boy.
smiled, then said, "You should go Henry, Your mothers will be worried," The man then ushered the boy out the door.
"Wait. I got you a present," the 12 year old said. Just then Belle came through the door.
"Oh Henry, what a lovely surprise," the young lady said.
Henry smiled. "Hi Belle," he siad.
"To what do I owe the pleasure?" Belle questioned.
"Henry came to wish us a happy grandparents day," Mr. Gold answered his wife.
This made Belle grin, "What a nice thought. Thank you Henry!"
"Welcome," answered the almost teenager. "Oh I, uh, got something for you" Henry said.
"Why thank you Henry," Belle said coming over to hug the boy.
"Sure" answered Henry handing a bag to Belle. Belle accepted the bag and smiled. "I should get going," Henry informed them.
"Right of course" Belle said after hugging him one more time. "Thank you again Henry!"
Henry shrugged. "It's nothing," he said.
"Well thank you anyway," Belle said.
"Uh huh," said Henry.
Then Mr. Gold, who had been watching the interaction between his wife and grandson said, "Yes, thank you dearie. I'll except you Monday?"
Henry nodded, "Yeah. Bye , bye Belle."
"Goodbye Henry," said Belle and with that the boy was out the door. Once the boy was gone Belle said to her husband "How nice of Henry"
"Yes nice indeed," said the Grandfather who was only starting to understand the relationship between him and his grandson but knew that they were figuring things out and that was more than he could ask for.
