Luna walked along the cracked sidewalk until she came to a tall metal gate. She looked up at the sign that read Lovegood Zoo, open to all, and smiled. She dug an old pair of skeleton keys out of her back pocket, unlocked the gate, and swung it open.
A thestral watched from its enclosure as Luna strolled down the path. "Hello, Madam Whimsy!" She called to her closest friend. The zoo was open to all, even muggles, as approved by the ministry. They didn't believe in some of the animals that Luna knew to be real, and therefore it was not a violation of the rule that muggles shouldn't know about magic. She chucked to herself. They were so uninformed.
Luna checked into her office at 6:15, then headed back out with a shovel and a bucket. She was the proud owner of the zoo, but also served as zookeeper, which meant, of course, cleaning cages.
She hurried along the path to her animal friends. She had to work quickly. The crowds would arrive at 7:00.
