As Danny walked home from school, Lia caught up with him.
"Hey, Danny," she greeted him, hugging him in a 'friends only' kind of way.
"Hey, Lia. Why are you here?" Danny asked.
"Uh, I live across the street and Mrs. Z. wanted me to help you with the math homework, since you're not doing so hot in math." She gave him a sideways glance.
"How come you're helping me, though?" asked Danny.
"Because I'm getting an 'A' and you're getting a 'D'," Lia said flatly, grinning.
"But that makes no sence. I mean, you're a Halfa too, but you're getting straight 'A's" Danny complained.
"Ah, but there's a difference, Danny," Lia countered.
"And what's that?"
"You're smart, and distracted," she said simply.
"And what are you?" Danny asked.
"Genius and undistracted," Lia said quickly.
"How are you undistacted?" Danny asked, a little loudly.
"I don't go around saving people, Danny. You do." she answered, trying to keep herself from laughing at Danny.
"Why not?" Danny asked, "I could use your help."
"I'm not human like you, Danny, so I don't feel the need to help these people. I am an elf, and since I was abandoned by the elves, I would not help them either. I would help my friends and family, and only if they truely needed me. Besides, I'm no bounty hunter, I'm more of a renegade."
"And how do you know if they truly need you?" Danny asked incrediously.
"If they're failing math."
"Very funny. How do you know, really?" Danny asked again.
"I don't know, I just do," Lia replied, "But maybe we should go inside and finish our little conversation while you're doing your math homework."
"Okay," Danny said, openning the door. Lia went inside and Danny followed.
When they were safely in Danny's room, Lia sat down on the bed. Danny plopped down beside her, pulling out his Algebra book.
"So whatcha got?" Lia asked.
"Linear equasions," Danny answered.
"Ah, the y equals mx+b kinda stuff. Cool." Danny looked at her.
"How is it cool?" he asked, slightly annoyed.
"Why does that matter?" Lia asked.
Danny was about to answer when his and Lia's ghost sense went off.
Danny stood up, but Lia pulled him back down. He glared at her.
"You sit this one out. I'll go take care of it. Just do your math, and I'll be back." Lia transformed into Wisp.
"Wait, take this with you," Danny said, pulling the Fenton Thermos out of his backpack and handing it to her.
"Thanks, Danny. Good luck with your homework."
She was amost out of his window when he stopped her again. "I thought you only helped friends and family,"
"I also said if they're failing math," Wisp said, grinnig and flying out the window to leave Danny to do his homework.
