The sun gradually began to descend as the sky went from a rich lilac to a vivid orange. It was pleasing to the eyes to see such a gorgeous spectacle. Misaki directed her gaze on the sky above as she admired the picturesque view. It wasn't everyday she got to see such a breathtaking sunset.
A cool breeze gently caressed Misaki's cheek as she was making her way home after just finishing what was a busy day at work. Her lips curled into a smile and there was a spring in her step as Misaki walked along a quiet footpath. While she was delighted to see the beauty in the sky, there was another reason Misaki was in such high spirits. She was given the next day off, meaning she could spend it with Chikage. Misaki was thrilled by the news and couldn't wait to get home and see him.
While Misaki would have liked to take her time and enjoy the sunset, her desire to get home and tell Chikage the good news was at the forefront of her mind. Misaki picked up the pace and before long had arrived at her house.
Misaki slowly opened up the front door and stepped inside. "I'm home!" She called out as she took off her shoes. Misaki cocked her head as she noticed the place was unusually quiet. Misaki headed to the living room but there was no one to be seen.
"Hmm. How strange. Where could everyone be?" Misaki couldn't recall anyone telling her they would be going out. She thought for sure Chikage would have notified her, specially with how late in the evening it was and still no one was home. 'Where could they be?' Misaki thought as she breathed a sigh. The happiness she felt moments ago had been replaced with a overwhelming sadness. Misaki couldn't help but feel lonely.
Misaki trudged along to her room when she heard the sound of approaching footsteps.
"What was that sound?" Misaki eyed her surroundings but couldn't see anyone around. She was about to continue her way to her room when she was suddenly wrapped up in a pair of warm but kind arms.
She jumped in surprise, "Ahhhhhh!" Misaki screamed out, she thought her heart might burst through her chest.
"Is that anyway to greet me? Hmmph, I'm not that scary."
Hearing the familiar voice, Misaki felt herself relax. She slowly raised her gaze and was met with a pair of piercing eyes.
"Chikage? I thought there was no one home..."
Chikage loosened his grip and smirked, "I have been here this whole time. You must have poor eyesight."
Misaki didn't know what to say, she was sure there was no one around, "But, I couldn't see you in the living room."
Chikage gazed at her coolly and tilted up her chin as he leaned forward, "I was never in the living room."
Misaki's eyes grew wide. She couldn't believe it and just after he made fun of her eyes. Misaki wanted to come back with some kind of retort but decided to keep her mouth shut.
"If you are wondering where everyone else is, they have gone out for the night." Chikage said, seeming to know what was on her mind.
"And you didn't want to go?" Misaki had an idea of why he didn't join them but she hoped to hear those words come from his own lips.
Chikage scoffed at her words, "Of course not. I'm not interested in their games."
Misaki knew it wouldn't be easy to get him to confess, she continued to press him as she plays innocent, "It's not because you couldn't stand to be away from me and wanted to be here when I got home?"
Hearing her say those words Chikage looked surprised for a second and Misaki could have sworn she saw a blush on his face before he had turned away.
"N-No. Don't be ridiculous." Chikage adamantly denied everything but the blush on his face told Misaki everything she needed to know.
"Come." Chikage firmly grabbed her wrist and led Misaki to the bedroom.
Chikage once again encircled his strong arms around her. Misaki noticed the glint of desire in his eyes. They were mesmerizing, Misaki thought she might get lost in them. Chikage edged closer and buried his face against her neck. He tenderly traced her smooth skin with his warm lips, dotting kisses all over.
Several moans passed through her lips as she breathed in his enticing scent. Misaki could hardly resist him as she was about to let passion overtake her but stopped when she suddenly remembered something.
"W-Wait." Misaki tried to push Chikage away a little. His eyes searched her face curiously, Chikage didn't understand why she wanted to stop all of a sudden.
Misaki spoke in a soft, sweet voice, "I have something I wanted to tell you."
Chikage tilted his head to the side, he was even more curious now, "What is it?"
"Tomorrow I have the day off from work. We can spend the whole day together. Isn't that great?" Misaki smiled gleefully. She was so happy.
Chikage smirked at how carefree she looked, "Is that so. We could just spend all day in bed then..." Chikage's voice trailed off as he continued to explore her body with his lips.
Misaki's mouth opened a little, she didn't mind spending the day in bed but she desired to do something more than that. Misaki wanted to go somewhere. She wanted to go on a date with him.
"Why don't we go on a date?" Misaki breathed against him. Chikage immediately stopped kissing and glanced at her face.
"Date?" Chikage didn't quite know what to make of what she was getting at, he rathered just spend the day in bed with her in his arms.
Misaki nodded her head and smiled brightly, "Yeah. We haven't really gone on many dates since being together... So, I'd like to go on one."
Misaki gave him the puppy dog eyes. As strong as he may be, Chikage was powerless when she looked at him like that.
Chikaged huffed as he answered, "Fine. We will go on a date if it will shut you up."
Misaki felt warm inside. She was so happy he agreed that she threw her arms around him in a loving embrace. His eyes widened, Chikage felt his whole body jerk in astonishment. He couldn't help but smile a little from how happy she was and the feeling of being wrapped up in her kind arms.
As he enjoyed the warmth of her arms around him, Chikage began to wonder where Misaki would want to go for their date, "Do you have something in mind?"
"Hmm." Misaki went silent for a moment and then looked like she had thought of something.
"Let's go to the amusement park. You have never been to one before. It will be fun." Misaki crinkled her eyes into a kind smile.
Chikage didn't quite know what to expect from an amusement park but he agreed nonetheless.
After they had agreed on their plans for the next day, Chikage continued with what he had started earlier. He wanted to take advantage of all the guys being out and take his time with Misaki as he showered her with sweet, intoxicating kisses. Misaki's body went numb from pleasure. She thought she might melt under the intensity of his kisses.
Chikage didn't let Misaki get much sleep that night as he drove her crazy with pleasure.
The next morning, a gentle light filled the room. Misaki's eyes slowly fluttered opened, she awoke encased in Chikage's warm arms. Sensing that she was awake, Chikage too opened his eyes and softly smiled at her.
Seeing that Chikage was awake, Misaki gently spoke to him,"Morning."
"Morning." Chikage breathed in return as he softly kissed her forehead.
Chikage released her from his arms and got up from the bed. Misaki gave a little stretch as she yawned and also got up.
As soon as she had stood up, Misaki was hit by a sudden dizziness in her head. But It vanished just as fast as it came. Misaki wasn't quite sure what it was. She decided It's best not to worry about it and pushed it to the back of her mind. All Misaki could think about was her date with Chikage. She eagerly began to prepare for their day out.
Misaki was in front of a mirror trying to put her hair up, but no matter how much she tried Misaki couldn't seem to get it the way she wanted. Misaki looked sadly at her reflection. Usually she has no trouble with something so simple as doing her hair, but today even simple things were proving to be a challenge.
Misaki kept trying again and again to do her hair when the brush was suddenly snatched from her hands. Misaki's eyes widened a little. She could see Chikage standing behind her in the mirror with the brush in his hand.
"Chikage?" Misaki whispered his name. She wasn't quite sure what he was doing.
"Just be still." Chikage replied. He started to gently brush her hair. His eyes were firmly fixed on the task. Misaki thought it was adorable that he looked so serious as he did her hair. She could feel his love behind every stroke. Misaki felt her skin grow hot from where his fingers brushed over her neck. 'This is so relaxing... I could stay like all day.'
Misaki closed her eyes as she enjoyed it when she suddenly felt a pain in her cheek. She opened her eyes and saw Chikage pulling on it.
"Owww!" Misaki cried out in pain.
Chikage let go and began to laugh, "You looked so relaxed. I thought you fell asleep."
Misaki pouted and looked at herself in the mirror. When she saw herself a smile formed. Her hair was nicely done up just how she wanted it. Misaki was surprised by just how good Chikage was.
"Thank you!" Misaki beamed at Chikage.
"No need to thank me. I just did it because we would have never left otherwise." A faint blush appeared on his cheeks and he looked away.
Chikage tried to cover up his real reasons for doing it. In truth, Chikage loved touching her hair. He loved everything about her.
They were finally on their way to the amusement park. Misaki couldn't wipe the smile from her face while Chikage had to control himself and made sure he didn't keep staring at her. Though he wouldn't freely admit it, Chikage loved it most when she had a smile on her face.
They finally stepped into the amusement park. Misaki's eyes lit up as she gazed at her surroundings. It was a weekday so there was less people than normal. And to top it off, the weather was perfect. There was not a cloud to be seen in the clear blue sky.
Misaki looked at a map of park that showed all the available rides. She didn't know what they should try first. Chikage stood by her said as he waited for her to decide. Misaki thought they should try out one of the roller coasters first so that's where they began to head.
As they stood in line waiting for their turn to get on, Chikage glanced up at the roller coaster. He looked intrigued.
"So you humans actually ride things like this?"
Misaki giggled a little. Quiet enough so he couldn't hear. She was amused by his curiosity.
"Yes. They are lots of fun."
Chikage looked at Misaki and then back at the ride that towered before them . He was interested in seeing how humans found it fun.
It was finally their turn and they both got on. Misaki held onto the handles tight and readied herself while Chikage sat with his arms folded.
"You might want to hold on. The ride goes pretty fast."
Chikage smirked as he looked at Misaki.
"It didn't look that fast to me. You needn't be so worried. This is like childs play."
Misaki didn't care what he said. She kept her grip on the hand bar. Chikage was about to eat his words.
"Bahaha! Childs play!"
Misaki was nearly on the ground. She thought she'd die of laughter as she held her sides.
"Hmmph. I-It wasn't that bad!" Chikage was furiously blushing as he hid his face. He didn't like seeing Misaki laughing so much at him.
As soon as the roller coaster had begun it's descent, Chikage had quickly loosened his arms and gripped onto the bar in front of him. While Misaki had screamed for fun, Chikage sounded like he screamed in horror. And to make matters worse, upon getting off the ride they looked at the photo that had been taken. On it Misaki could be seen with a wide grin as she enjoyed herself. While Chikage on the other hand looked horrified as his eyes nearly bugged out and his mouth hanged opened.
"Let's go." Chikage glared at Misaki and signaled with his eyes that she had better stop laughing.
"Ok, ok. I'm sorry." Misaki grinned, " It was just soo funny." Misaki whispered and covered her mouth with her hand in an attempt to control her laughter.
Chikage pressed his lips together in annoyance and ignored her.
Misaki stopped laughing when she spotted a churro stand.
"Hey, want to get something to eat?"
Misaki pointed to the stand, Chikage directed his gaze towards where she was looking.
"Always thinking about your stomach."
Chikage teased her.
Misaki puffed up her cheeks and denied it though it was probably true.
They made their way over to the stand and bought one churro each.
Chikage eyed it off curiously before taking a bite. As soon as the sweet flavor filled his mouth his whole face lit up. He quickly devoured the whole thing. Misaki was shocked at how fast he put it away. She had only just begun on hers but couldn't focus on eating it with the way Chikage was staring at her.
"Did you want mine?"
Chikage quickly nodded his head. Misaki couldn't refuse him with the way he looked at her. She handed over the churro to him. Chikage looked like a little child as he ate it. He wore a satisfied smile, Misaki didn't think he'd enjoy it so much, she was glad.
'And he thought I was thinking about my stomach.' Misaki giggled. She felt her heart grow warm, she always loved seeing different sides to him. Each one only made her love him even more.
Misaki was deciding on what ride to go on next when she felt a hot rush through her body and went a little lightheaded.
'Wow, what is wrong with me? I'm not getting sick I hope. Uggh... I can't let him know. I have to hide it.' With that in mind, Misaki knew she couldn't let anything slip. Akayashi easily pick up on things and the slightest slip up she knew that would be it.
"How about we go on this ride?" Misaki pointed at the map.
"Hnm, and what's that one do?" Chikage asked cautiously. He didn't want to be caught off guard like the last ride.
Misaki quickly explained how the ride worked. Chikage thought it sounded better than the last one. He agreed and they were on their way.
"Ahaha! Again! I don't think you are cut out for rides." Misaki was once again gripping her sides as she laughed.
Chikage stood to the side of her looking a little pale as he tried to catch his breath.
"I didn't think it could move so fast while spinning like that. And at such heights."
Chikage did not look impressed. Once again he looked horrified on the ride. He didn't understand how humans got joy out of such things.
They continued to go on a few more rides, each one proving to be too much for Chikage. Misaki felt herself growing weaker and weaker but still tried to hold on.
The sun had finally begun to set on their date. Misaki was now pushing herself to keep up with Chikage.
"What did you think? Did you like the amusement park?"
Chikage glanced at Misaki's face and saw her innocent smile but could tell it was hiding something, "I don't understand how you humans find such enjoyment from torturing yourself in these supposed fun rides."
Misaki began to laugh at his reply when she lost her footing and felt herself falling. But before she could hit the ground, she was caught up in a pair of strong, tender arms.
"Chikage... I'm sorry." A sadness filled Misaki's eyes as she apologized.
"I knew it. Why didn't you tell me sooner..." Chikage looked concerned as he gazed at her a worry filled his usual cool voice. Chikage held her tight against him.
"You looked off all day. Why did you push yourself?"
Misaki smiled sweetly before answering, "Because, I wanted to spend my day with you. I wanted to be by your side."
Chikage was stunned. He wasn't expecting her to answer with such kind words. Chikage felt moved. A pleasant warmth filled his body.
"But we could have gone another day."
Misaki shook her head, "It doesn't matter. I wanted to be with you now. I always want to be with you, by your side..."
Again and again Misaki kept coming up with such sweet words.
"Thank you..." Chikage softly whispered as a blush tinted his cheeks.
"It's time we got you home." Chikage proceed to lift her up in his arms.
"I-I can walk!" Misaki started to protest and wanted to be let down but Chikage refused and tightened his grip.
Chikage walked to a secluded spot and stopped. He peered into Misaki's eyes.
"I'm going to need some of your power to get us home. I'm afraid today has worn me out."
Misaki's eyes grew wide. She didn't want him to kiss her incase she got him sick. She insisted she could walk.
"Don't be ridiculous. There is no way I could catch a human disease. And even if I could I'd still kiss you. There is no way I'm letting you go." Chikage whispered in her ear.
Misaki knew it was pointless to resist, she let Chikage kiss her giving him enough power to fly the both of them home.
Chikage held her tight against his body as he flew back home. He could tell how hot her body was and how much she must have been pushing herself. Chikage soon realized she had fallen asleep in his arms.
"Silly girl. You push yourself too much...But that's one of the things I love about you. You always put others ahead of yourself."
As soon as they got home Chikage made his way to the bedroom and gently placed her on the bed. He admired her innocent sleeping face and just how beautiful she looked with her flushed cheeks.
"How can one look so breathtakingly beautiful. She's like a goddess." Chikage traced her cheek with his finger before softly kissing her forehead.
"Feel better soon." Chikage whispered and left the room.
Some time passed and Misaki began to stir in her sleep and her eyes fluttered open. Misaki noticed the familiar ceiling and realized she was back in her room.
"Hmmm..." Misaki reached a hand to her forehead and noticed a cloth on it.
"Did Chikage...?" Misaki felt love welling up inside of her at the thought of Chikage looking after her.
Misaki tried to sit up in bed but was still too weak. The door to the room suddenly opened and a pleasant aroma filled the air.
Misaki opened her eyes and there she saw Chikage walking in with a tray in hand.
"You are awake? I brought you some soup. Samon made you it. He said it's very nutritious."
Chikage sat down besides her bed, "How are you feeling?"
Misaki could hear the tenderness in his voice. He was being surprisingly sweet.
"Pretty bad. But I feel better knowing you are here." She smiled affectionately.
Chikage didn't quite know how to reply so he avoided it, "Here. I'll feed you." Chikage said as he was preparing to serve her the soup.
"I-It's okay. I can do it." Misaki tried to sit up but was unable too.
"No. I'm going to do it. Just be quiet and let me do this."
Chikage went to grab a pillow to prop up her head so he could feed her the soup. Misaki felt a little embarrassed but she was so happy that Chikage was being so kind.
"Thank you so much. Just having you here, I already feel like I'm starting to get better. It must be the power of love."
Misaki felt so much love for the man sitting by her side. He usually would act cool and never let his emotions show. But right now he has been showering her with so much love and kindness, she wanted to soak it all in.
"P-Power of love...?"
Chikage wasn't sure how to take it. He felt a gentle warmth grow inside of him as he nursed her. It was the love he held for her. Everyday he could feel it growing stronger. He loved everything about her and that would never change.
Chikage needed her in his life just as much as she needed him. No matter what happened, he would always be there for her. Power or not. He held her dear and promised from his heart to always protect her.
"When you are better I hope I get rewarded."
Chikage smirked mischievously and Misaki knew exactly what he meant. It was hard to tell if the flush on her cheeks were from being sick or from blushing. She didn't mind though. Misaki would do anything for him. Chikage was the most important person in the world to him. Even though it was her power that originally brought them together it will be their love that carries them through the future.
