"How long will it take them to fix this moving, metal, box?!" a twenty three year old Raiga complained. Pacing loudly inside the elevator.
"Dude, calm down. Repair's gonna happen, you heard them. At least ten minutes." Kota placed a hand on Raiga's shoulder as he tries to soothe his former Leader.
"Calm down?!" the blue haired male screeched. "You want me to calm down?! I received a message not so long ago that my wife collapsed in the hallway and you want me to calm down?!" he spat, breathless.
"I'll say you agree, calm down." Soma sighed, eyeing the silver band that Raiga has on one of his fingers. "Sakuya's there, your half's in good hands." leaning on his back, getting slightly irritated at the panicking male.
With slumping shoulders, he breathed "I just want to make sure she's okay." running a hand through his pale blue locks. His eyes narrowed at the possible exit in this so called 'box'.
"No! No, no!" Kota's voice can be heard from Sakuya's phone in speaker mode. "You are not getting out through the hatch I tell you Mister!- Ow! Ow! Tadashi Raiga! Stop it! Soma! Lend a hand will you?! Oh, come on." the last words resembling a strangled cry before Sakuya cut off the line.
Alisa can only let out a small groan before letting the palm of her hands fall on her face. Embarrassment rising when she glanced and saw the amusement in Sakuya's crimson eyes. How she wanted to bury one of the pillows at her face and curl up in the infirmary bed.
"I can't believe he can still act like a teenager in his age." Sakuya lets out a small chuckle before placing the device on the table beside Alisa's bed.
"Sometimes, I seek the same answer." a small sigh escaped from Alisa's lips. Inwardly relieved knowing that her husband's perfectly safe after a three day mission. If not, Raiga wouldn't be causing a tantrum inside the elevator. "I know what you are about to say, Sakuya." she felt her brow twitched upon seeing that familiar smile on Sakuya's face. That smile that she always put on whenever she teases the Russian God Eater. "It is cute, I admit." flashing a small embarrassed smile to Sakuya.
"I can see the point why he's being that protective." Sakuya replied, eyeing Alisa as she sat up from the bed. "Your world revolves in each other. You'll probably do the same if you're in Raiga's shoes." shaking her head with a laugh. "You might act cool on the outside, but you're actually a mess inside."
Leaning back and resting on the headboard, she scoffed. "I can imagine myself with crossed arms, the heel of my boot creating a dent in the metal floor due to all its tapping."
"Exactly, that." Sakuya nodded in agreement before the their laughs echoed across the room. But the exhausted sigh that Alisa let out after all the laughing did not miss Sakuya's eyes. "You sure you're okay? You're not straining yourself are you?"
"Oh, no." the Russian waved her hand in dismissal, both of them knew that her current work load's not as bad as it used to be in the past. "Just really..tired for some reason." breaking eye contact as she lets out a small, nervous laugh.
"Really?" Sakuya's eyes narrowed at Alisa suspiciously. "I still need to make sure you're okay though." standing up to reach out for the result papers of Alisa's test. Making her way to claim her earlier spot, Sakuya stated "Temperature and blood pressure's fine. No findings for possible colds, flu, sore throat, and-.." she was cut off on what she saw, giving giving Alisa a very surprised look. "Say Alisa, is your cycle still irregular as it used to be?" her crimson eyes looking directly at Alisa's indigo ones.
"Yes." came Alisa's reply with a meek nod.
"We do have a finding." Sakuya beamed a smile. "A good one is I could say."
"I'm expecting aren't I?" the silver haired God Eater stated as she looked down at the hands on her lap, her fingers twiddling as she waits for Sakuya's answer.
"You knew?" the older woman sat on the edge of the bed.
"No." Alisa shook her head weakly. "I just felt it. That something's off with me lately." her hands gripping the blanket as her mind tries to grasp the fact. It's official, the hunch she had a few days back were true:
She and Raiga will have a child.
"I was planning on asking you about it in the next few days." Alisa continued, her voice resembling a small squeak. "I mean- are you even sure about that?! I know that we were thinking about it but-" not noticing that her body starts trembling for a bit. "I-.." she felt a pair of arms gently wrapping around her neck. "I'm not in a dream right?" Alisa's indigo eyes were still wide, the surprise still painted across her face.
"You're losing your cool Alisa, relax." the older woman laughed as she alowly pats Alisa's head. "It's a bit of a shocker, I know."
Sakuya smiled when she felt the younger God Eater relax on her arms. "This is all real." she said softly. Absolutely delighted for the one who's always been like her younger sister. "Don't worry. You'll be a fine mother." Sakuya continued while stroking her hand on Alisa's hair.
A panting and disheveled Raiga stood in front of the infirmary door. The so called 'ten' minutes of repair took an actual half an hour. "I knew I should've made an exit through the hatch." heaving a deep breath and then proceeds with his earlier intention. He wanted to check on his wife.
"Ahh, finally..took you long enough." Raiga turned to see an irritated Sakuya sitting on the edge of the bed with her legs crossed.
He chuckled nervously "They won't let me make my own exit." shoving a hand in his pocket with a pout.
"I'll let the two of you have a small reunion." sighing before she faced Alisa. "Don't strain yourself." playfully ruffling the younger female's hair who groaned out of protest. Sakuya lets out a giggle before walking away. Making a short stop in front of Raiga "Congrats." she smiled as she pass by. Leaving a completely confused Raiga. Also pushing a barely noticed Kota out of the room.
"Hey." Raiga breathed, taking short strides towards his better half.
"Hey." Alisa smiled warmly. Patting a spot next to her.
Claiming his spot next to his wife, the blue-haired male sighed. "How do you feel?" he asked, still worried about Alisa's condition.
"It's nothing big, Raiga." holding a small laugh seeing how Raiga pouts his lips like a child. "I just didn't know I was that exhausted."
"Hmm? Really now?" he intrigued, moving closer with an eyebrow raised. "Still, I was worried." he stopped on closing the distance between them the moment their foreheads touch.
"So I heard." slowly, Alisa laced their fingers together. His left together with her right, in a lock that they became familiar with after all the years. "You don't need to worry though." resting her head on his shoulder. "Everything is fine." Alisa hid a smile when she felt an arm wrapping around her waist.
"What if something happened back there?" holding her closer. He even let out a small whimper when she leaned all her weight against him. Their entwined hands still not letting go.
She laughed at her husband's child-like antics, bringing her right around his back "There, there." Alisa pats his back playfully. "I can't believe you're slowly turning into a crybaby as time flies."
"I was married to a woman whose actually a total crybaby during her teens." the male pulled back for a bit to give Alisa a straight look. "Am I right dear?" Raiga grinned victoriously, showing his teeth in which the young woman pouted and glared her indigo orbs against Raiga's blue ones.
"Really now, with that joke?" Alisa sighed out of defeat when she saw the grin on his face never dropping. "I missed you though." she leaned on the crook of his neck. "Welcome back." she whispered softly, getting a whiff of that familiar musk that she longed for a couple of days.
"Yeah, me too." slowly rubbing circles on her back. "I'm just glad your safe." planting a kiss on the top of her head.
Humming a tune as he held her for a bit longer, Raiga told himself that he'll make sure that he'll make up for this tonight. He knew Alisa was quite upset, with him not even giving her a call or at least send a mail telling he's alright. A contrary when Alisa's the one away in some occasions.
Sighing inwardly, Raiga's fully aware that Alisa still has that bad sleeping habit while in his arms. Not that he mind though, it just always leads on which he'll doze off on the same spot as well since he doesn't want to stir her from her sleep. A perfect example was the time that they spent the night on the couch in Kota's living room after being tipsy due to alcohol on celebrating Kota's birthday. He always loved that serene look that she has on her sleeping form, he sees her like an angel that fell down on earth. Still, Raiga's actually thankful that it doesn't happen in the middle of their nightly intimate sessions or else-, nevermind. Like he'll actually say it out loud to anyone.
Stirring for a bit to check if if Alisa dozed off, he felt a surge of emotions through their resonance coming from her when she giggled.
A tinge of nervousness, but its completely being eaten away by warm, and heart fluttering joy.
Throughout the years, he and Alisa were able to gain complete control of their resonance. They made sure to have it under control. Heck to be frank, it was quite an inconvenience for them before, back when they're still trying to figure out how they felt for each other when they were teenagers. Now, after four years of going out and being married for a year, there are still instances that their emotions leak out. If it's strong enough that they can't contain it to themselves anymore, that's when it happens.
"Alisa." he called. Raising a curious brow when Alisa looked at him with a smile. "What are you trying to say?" tilting his head to the side innocently.
"Do you remember what Dr. Sakaki offered?" she asked while looking directly at his eyes.
Raiga nodded. "About keeping it low? I don't know, we've been on the front lines as long as I can remember. I see that they still need extra hands in the field. So, it'll still probably take a while before I keep it 'low'." he shrugged. "Wait, you want to?"
"I'm reconsidering the offer." Alisa's smile couldn't get wider seeing the confused look on Raiga's face. Squeezing his hand tighter while looking down, she breathed. "We'll be having an additional family member in a matter of months."
"Y-you mean?" his voice hitched, getting caught in his throat.
Nervously looking up, Alisa saw the surprise on Raiga's eyes, his mouth slightly agape. "Yes." she bit her lower lip, Raiga's silence is deafening her. "We'll be having a baby." she clutched the back of his shirt.
"How long?" he asked, Raiga's voice still quivering from surprise.
"Not really sure." shaking her head for a bit. "But, Sakuya assumes that it's at least a month now." Alisa sighed wearily. "Raiga?" worry forms inside her when she saw the tears forming on her husband's eyes.
Raiga burst out, laughing happily as he gave Alisa another hug. "Sorry for worrying you, I couldn't help myself." lovingly rubbing his cheek against hers. "I'm really happy right now. Thank you." he whispered on her ear. "We'll be raising her on a house full of love and care."
"Her?" she asked with a laugh. "You sound like you're already certain of what the gender will be."
With another pout, Raiga complained "What? Is it wrong for me to wish to have a mini version of you?" kissing the tip of her nose playfully. "Thank you." he softly whispered with a smile before claiming Alisa's lips with his'.
Hand in hand as they made an exit from the infirmary, Raiga wasn't able to wipe the grin off his face. He felt like he was still floating in cloud nine. He already asked Alisa to wake him up from this 'dream', and with the heel of her boot grinding on his foot was more than enough proof that he's not dreaming nor hallucinating.
"Sakuya." he called, seeing the older woman sitting on the benches near the vending machines.
"Looks like something good happened." Sakuya teased, her eyes mimicking the twinkle of glee from the couple's eyes.
"Uhm, yeah." Raiga scratched the back of his head, his cheeks slowly flushing while Alisa did the same as she lets out a small laugh.
"We'll be heading out now." the male said with a sheepish grin. "If you don't mind." he cleared his throat. "We'll pay a visit again tomorrow."
"It's fine, go along now." Sakuya beamed a smile. "Enjoy your free time you-"
"Ya-ouch!" the sound of Kota's scream echoed throughout the hall.
Both Raiga and Sakuya looked back to see Kota wincing out of pain. Only to find out that the root cause was none other than Alisa grinding her heel on Kota's foot. Raiga wanted to smack himself for completely forgetting about Kota, said God Eater decided to accompany him on checking on Alisa. But to see Alisa glared and grits her teeth towards Kota, he's making a guess that she's really not in the mood for Kota's teasing.
"Sorry." Raiga smiled apologetically, with Kota pouting his lips at the couple's direction. Laughing nervously as he gave Alisa's hand a reassuring squeeze, Raiga mentally noted to get her some flats to wear. He could never really tell what she could do with those heels within a few months from now.
