Please don't judge me, I was bored at the school swimming carnival and this came out, no flames or bad comments please, it is just something from the strange realm of my mind.

It was a dark and stormy night, a night that Meredith thought that she had the house to herself.

A thunk above her head made Meredith climb, somewhat nervously up the stairs to the attic.

"Hello?" Meredith asked stupidly.

"M-Meredith?" A small voice asked from the opposite side of the bed.

"Lexie, seriously, that was just you?" Meredith walked more confidently into the room.

"The thunder took me by surprise" Lexie admitted in a child-like voice.

"Come with me" Meredith held out her hand which Lexie more then happily grabbed and held on for dear life.

The two sisters made their way back to the main bedroom where Lexie hesitated to get into the bed.

"Lexie, just get in" Meredith sighed, already close to sleep.

Lexie made her way over to the bed and curled into Derek's side of the bed.

"Come here, the reason you were scared was because you were alone" Meredith pulled Lexie closer to her body.

Lexie found it easy to sleep in the comfort of her sister's embrace.

The next morning, Derek came in, tired from the night he had just spent on-call, when he found that his bed was occupied by Lexie and Meredith, arms slung across each others waist, legs intertwined.

Derek snapped a quick photo on his phone be retreating back downstairs to the couch.
