A petite blond girl knocked on the glass divider. Cho immediately looked up and analyzed her-a habit left over from his gang days that came in handy at the CBI. She seemed to be
completely normal – shoulder length, curly, blonde hair, a slight, petite build and friendly pale blue eyes. She seemed familiar but he knew he had never seen her before in his life. She
smiled at him. "I'm looking for a Patrick Jane. Do you know where I can find him?" Internally, Cho grimaced. This was yet another person Jane had pissed off... or, maybe their lawyer. It
was a good thing his... unorthodox method solved cases or Hightower would fire him before he could ask for a cup of tea. Keeping his poker face, Cho said "He's not here right now." Late
again he added silently. "Oh, do you know when he'll be back?" she asked...still smiling. "No" Cho replied shortly. "I'll just wait for him at his desk then." and smiling brightly, she walked
straight to Jane's desk and sat down. Cho stared at her for a second then looked down and got back to work. A little while later, Rigsby and Van-Pelt walked in, talking and laughing if a
but awkwardly. Things hadn't gone back to normal since they ended. Rigsby grinned and laughing, said "Hey man, guess what..." He trailed off and all three of them looked at the girl who
was now going through Jane's desk. Both Rigsby and Van-Pelt looked questioningly at Cho and he said "She's looking for Jane." and calling to the girl "He doesn't like people going
through his things." "Oh" she called back, smiling brightly, "I know, that's why I am." Cho shook his head and went back to typing. Rigsby and Van-Pelt exchanged curious glances,
shrugged and went to their separate desks.
Jane was humming as he walked to his couch. How can I bother Lisbon today? He thought. She needs someone to keep her on her toes. He chuckled to himself. He entered the room and
stopped short. Something was different. Rigsby was tossing crumpled paper in the garbage-normal. Van-Pelt was working-normal and Cho was pretending to work but was actually
playing solitaire-normal. Lisbon was meeting with Hightower-normal. Hmmm. He shook his head. Maybe he was being paranoid. Lisbon entered and surveyed the scene. Cho looked up
and saw that the blonde girl was gone. Weird. He shook his head and Jane stared at him. All of a sudden a voice came out from the kitchen area. "Hey do you guys have anything besides
tea in here?" and who emerged from the kitchen but the blonde girl. She smiled brightly and said "Uncle Pat, I've been waiting for you forever!" Jane pursed his lips, rocked on his heels,
gave her a small nod, "Diana."
