Danny and his friends lay sprawled across his bed in his darkened bedroom playing Doomed. After an hour of playing they heard his parents pull out of the driveway.

"Where are they going" asked Sam.

"Some crackpot wants to buy a bunch of their weapons" Danny shrugged eyes remaining focused on the screen.

"You're so lucky to have parents who do something cool" said Sam.

"That's easy for you to say you don't have to live with them" said Danny. "When your basements full of weapons to fight something that doesn't even exist then we'll talk".

"Do you think you can get me down there" asked Sam.

"I don't know" said Danny rubbing the back of his neck nervously "I'm not really allowed down there".

"Come on man" said Tucker "we'll be in and out in like five minutes. Besides she's not gonna let up until you give in".

And so Danny found himself leading his friends to the basements stairs which led to his parents lab. Danny stood at the top of the stairs watching his friends explore the cluttered lab. listening in case his parents arrived home early.

"Careful. Some of this stuff actually works" Danny said running down the stairs to get Tucker away from a Fenton Blaster.

"Okay. You've seen the lab now let's get out of here" Danny said eyeing some of the more volatile machinery nervously.

"Yeah, Yeah" said Sam "Just let me get a picture for my scrapbook". "Here put this on" she said shoving Danny's hazmat suit into his arms.

"The sooner you give in the sooner we'll be out of here" said Tucker.

"Wait" said Sam once Danny had given in and put on the suit. She peeled a sticker of his chest. "You do not want to walk around wearing your dad's face".

Danny stood in the middle of his parents portal as Sam looked through her camera lens.

"Move back a bit all I'm getting is your eyes" said Sam

As Danny took a step backwards he tripped over some loose wires. There was a bright flash of light as Danny found himself lying on the floor before everything went dark.

Danny awoke to the sound of sirens. He sat up carefully only to find he felt fine.

"Sam, Tucker" Danny called put realizing he was alone. No answer. Now he was worried. Danny couldn't think of any reason that his friends would just leave him like that. He ran to the kitchen window taking the basement steps two at a time to see what was going on. He arrived just in time to see his own lifeless body being loaded into the back of an ambulance.
