Hey couldn't believe the ending of COS it was so devastating, so i had to write this.
It sets place after the movie, i think it contains spoilers so read at own risk. :)
Disclaimer: I dont own Fullmetal Alchemist or any of its characters.
I would like it very much if you reviewed :D
Winry remembered the very last time that she and Ed hugged. The last time she saw him. When he came back from the other side of the gate, she thought he would be home for good and that everything would go back to normal. But instead he disappeared again, with not only himself but he took his brother with him leaving her behind...as always. Except this time they were never coming back.
She only just coped with Ed's leaving by looking after Al. Now that Al had gotten his body back and grown up a bit they both looked so similar and Winry sometimes forgot that Ed was gone. But that didn't last long.
Now that they were both gone, she had nothing to help her cope. The only person she ever loved had left her. They both had left her. Never again would she have anything to look forward to, now that Ed wasn't going to come home for repairs anymore.
They had always come back. If it took them over a year, they would always return sooner or later. But now they would not. Winry was alone. She had no one to pick on about their height, or to share the happy memories and the games they used to play together with. Now that he was gone.
Winry had believed that Al would get Ed back, that's what kept her from breaking down. But now they had left her for good she let it all out. She had once seemed so strong but that was all gone now. Winry hadn't come out of her room since she found out that they were not coming home and she refused to eat. Her arms were covered in cuts, some new and some old.
A little while passed. Finally a gunshot was heard, as far away as the charred house on top of the hill that was the only memento that Ed and Al had existed.
Ed stopped running.
"Brother? What's the matter?" Al asked him worriedly.
"I-I suddenly feel empty... as if something in my heart has been ripped away from me...it's stupid don't worry." Ed announced blushing at the cheesiness of his words. But he couldn't help wondering why he felt this way. He didn't like it one bit.
He ran past Al without another word.
"Brother wait! You run too fast! You're going to trip!"
Pinako stood in front of the grave laid out for her granddaughter. She was buried next to her parents. The grave read:
Winry Rockbell
Unknown suicide
1899 – 1919
It wasn't Unknown suicide to Pinako, she knew that they shouldn't have left her. It was their fault she died and Pinako wished they could feel the guilt.
I know it was short right, oh well.
Thanks to the people that helped me figure out the correct dates for the grave stone.
:)
