"Go home, we've all had a long day," Hotch said as the team made their way into the bullpen.
Everyone's faces said they we're relieved to be getting some time off, even if it was only a few hours. As quickly as the walked in they began to walk out. "Wait," Kate called getting the team's attention. "I have some news I would like to share," she started when all eyes were back on her. "I'm Pregnant," she announced and the BAU member's faces lit up. After some congratulatory hugs she continued on. "It's only three months, so its still a little early, but I wanted to let you all know," she said happily, even after only having a short amount of time with the Unit she had begun to consider them as a part of her family.
"Are you okay?" Reid asked coming to stand next to JJ. She looked over to him questionably, but he could see the tears beginning to form at the ducts.
"Yeah, all good," she smiled, though Reid could tell she was hiding something. He didn't know what though, he already knew more than the rest of the team, what else could there be?
"It's understandable to be emotional right now, this would be bringing up a lot of feelings for you."
"I'm fine, Spence," she said looking over at the rest of the team, all of whom were in deep discussion over Kate's pregnancy. This was certainly not the time or place to bring it back up. "Really," she said trying to assure him, she could see he was worried about her.
...
"You're back," Will said happily seeing his wife walk into the living room.
"Hotch gave us the rest of the day off," JJ answered. "You weren't working today?" She asked surprised to see him home already.
"Tomorrow," he answered standing up from the sofa and walking over to the blonde. "You have to stop going away for so long, I missed you," he said pulling her into his embrace.
"I've missed you too," she replied before placing her lips on his. "It's been a long couple of days."
"What happened?" Will asked as the walked over to take a seat in the sofa. Usually they would have to wait until Henry was in bed before they would talk about their cases, but their little boy would be at school for another hour, so this was a nice change.
"Nothing too out of the ordinary."
"Why do you look beat?" Will asked, he didn't mean it as an insult and hoped she wouldn't take it that way. "I mean you look different."
"Kate's Pregnant," JJ said, and Will couldn't work out if that was good or bad news.
"How you feeling about that?" He asked.
"I'm happy for her, but-"
"It's bringing up everything," Will said as he finished off her sentence.
"Yeah, but those feelings and emotions are always going to be there, because I lost our baby, but they don't amp up or die down because someone's pregnant," JJ explained. She had told Will about the miscarriage a while ago. He was upset, but he understood why she didn't tell him. "And I'm happy she is," JJ added trying to bring the mood of the conversation up.
"It's good news," Will said taking JJ's hand in his.
"Yeah, because I am too," she smiled.
"What?" Will said dumbfounded. He had given up hope of having another child a while ago.
"I didn't want to say anything for a few more weeks but I don't want to keep this from you. Not this time," she said not being able to control the smile that filled her face.
"You're pregnant," he said still in a state of shock, before pulling her in for a hug.
"I'd only be a couple of weeks but-"
"We're having another baby," Will said pulling away slightly and resting their foreheads together.
"We're having another baby," she beamed. In that moment she couldn't be happier.
