Remember
Its funny when you find yourself looking from the outside
I'm standing here but all I want is to be over there
Draco Malfoy saw them at the station, still a group, Potter, Weasley, Weaselette, and her. She was standing with her two children Hugo and Rose, her daughter starting Hogwarts with his, Scorpius. He noticed Weasley pointing at him and all four turning to him. He didn't bother to acknowledge them. However his memory took him for a ride in the past, for that brief moment when her eyes met his.
Why did I let myself believe
Miracles could happen
Cause now I have to pretend
That I don't really care
He had prayed, first when he saw her, "Please let her be in Slytherin"
He had been stupid believing age-old traditions and not befriending her, just because she was a muggleborn.
I thought you were my fairytale
A dream when I'm not sleeping
He always had taken great pride in her achievements and he still did though he never told her that face to face.
His concern for her well-being was also hidden due to pureblood prejudice.
A wish upon a star
That's coming true
The admiration, when she had slapped him.
The gratitude, she had shown him the way to the light.
The happiness, she had been happy, with her friends not with him, definitely.
I swore I knew the melody
That I heard you singing
And when you smiled
You made me feel
Like I could sing along
The rejection, when he could not be with her.
The jealousy, for the love he had not received.
I know you're not a fairytale
And dreams were meant for sleeping
And wishes on a star
Just don't come true
The disappointment, he had not shown any emotions.
The regret, for all insults he had showered on her.
I can't believe that
I could be so blind
The frustration of not being able to do anything when she needed help. Anger, at his cowardice and their bravery.
The pity; at her ignorance of his love.
It's like you were floating
While I was falling
And I didn't mind
The contentment, she was safe.
Cause now even I can tell
That I confused my feelings with the truth
Yes, he admitted. He did have to acknowledge her. He had once already, as his life. She was the one who kept him alive and from committing a grave mistake. Even though he knew they were not meant to be. Even though she reciprocated dislike.
He nodded curtly and turned to his wife. "Let's go."
A dream. That's what she was. The impossible dream to be enjoyed when asleep and then wake up to face reality. It was time to move on. And he had.
Cause I liked the view
When there was me and you
"There was never me and you," He whispered.
This story was my first take written way back in 2000. Just thought sentimentally I should start with this. Waiting for your reviews :D
