Step into the mysterious forest, so rich with the colour green and she hears the sounds of joyous laughter resonate quietly in the distance.
Where is this coming from? She thinks.
The slender braches of the trees sway gently in the breeze and entwine with each other. The laughter continues as the forgotten cherry blossoms of spring rotate around the bewildered child.
She stays there watching the swirling petals form an inscrutable shape of a woman in a dress before flying away into the distance, echoes of laughter dying in a breath of the wind.
The rosy and blue hues of dawn reflect off a nearby lake, giving it a divine quality. The little child kneels opposite the crystal clear lake. She sees many different types of fish she has never seen before.
Each one was unique with its own colourful pattern. A fish with a long, sparkling silver tail jumps out of the realm of waters, its battered skin looks venerable. Large, frightened eyes bear the secret scars of wisdom as it watches the child before falling back into the lake, causing large ripples to ruffle across its surface.
The sound of rustling startles the child. She turns to see a large lion standing proudly, the new-born luminous rays of sunlight reflecting off his golden mane, creating an aureole around him.
She expects herself to run away or scream but there is something kind, almost friendly about this lion.
"Hello, may I ask where I am?" she asks timidly.
The lion pads over to her and relaxes himself beside her. A couple of tortoises swim pass the two and to the girl's surprise they were chatting away to themselves.
"They can talk!" she exclaims and further to her astonishment, the lion chuckles.
"Dear child," the lion begins. His voice was deep, sagacious and welcoming.
"You have found the realm of your own imagination. This is a place where good always triumphs over evil, a place where friends will always remain by your side. Anyone and almost everyone is welcome here, this is a place for the stranded, the despairing, the lost and the joyful. Forgiveness shall be granted to those who wish for it."
They gaze into the distance at the moss-green mountains. Large horses with wings gallop across the sky. Their wings flap against the wind and the child knew where she was. She turned back to the lion who was smiling.
"You have found Narnia."
