So… for a LA project… a dark beauty and the beast. I know it's a far cry from Harry Potter. Oh… we don't own Beauty and the Beast, just this version.

Beauty and the Beast

"Save me!" the old man cried.

"Only if I get what I want," demanded the Beast.

"No, that's my only daughter!" protested the old man.

"Not if you want your whole family dead," threatened the beast.

Not wanting to suffer more misery, the old man reluctantly agreed. His youngest daughter was sent to the Beast. Belle went, but wept the whole journey there, for she was madly in love with another young man, Roderigo.

When she arrived at Beast's castle in the dark, she saw a mansion in the mist of a gloomy fog and its land covered in vile swamps. At first, the Beast and she were mutually hostile but as time wore on, he succumbed to her wishes. Each night, she begged to leave, to see her family, to see her lover but each night he refused.

Finally, one night he agreed but making her agree that she would return in a day, Belle set off, reaching her house by dawn. After rejoicing the return of Belle, if only for a day, she visited Roderigo. When Belle came back, she was glowing with happiness that made the Beast suspect that didn't come from only visiting her family. Then, the Beast got jealous of whom ever Belle was in love with and decided to track her down.

Every night, after he made sure Belle was asleep, he snuck out of his castle and asked the towns people who Belle was in love with. Frightened by this monster, no one would answer. Finally, one night, a disgruntled young man who was also in love with Belle but had been rejected told the Beast where Roderigo lived. The next night, he went to the residence and saw him asleep and a letter from Belle on his nightstand. Out of a fight of jealously, he went in and violently attacked Roderigo. After Roderigo was murdered, he realized that the townspeople would find out if he left Roderigo there. Therefore, he took Roderigo with him, to the castle and hid it in a closet.

Later that day, he instructed Belle to stay out of the castle, and finding that the only loose floorboards where in Belle's room, pried those up and dumped him there. Later that night, Belle lost her hair pin in her room and was feeling in the dark for them. She noticed a loose floor board, pried it off and felt around. In a couple of minutes she noticed that her hand was covered in a sticky wet substance but then, shrugged it off.

Going into town, she noticed that the whole town was all talking about one thing, the disappearance of Roderigo. Thinking that he was just out in the woods, which he commonly did, she ignored the gossip and had a happy day in town. Only when she arrived home, did she connect the dots and realized that Roderigo had been murdered.

Beast however, was extremely confident that he had eliminated his rival, had sent for Belle's favorite flowers, roses. He was going to present them when he got home from his trip. When Beast got home, he went into the into the ball room where they had promised to meet. Seeing no one in the room, he started to become furious, thinking that she had forgotten again. But then, he noticed the dangling slippers and them looked up… and saw Belle. She was hanging from the crystal chandelier, the only object in the house she had loved. On the floor besides her, there was a note, Beast who was in shock, picked it up.

Only later did he read the note, when he was in bed. After finishing the note, Beast realized that Belle would of never loved him. Falling asleep, there was a candle still light…

The next morning, there was neither trace of the mansion Beast owned nor a trace of him, only glowing embers in the middle of swamps.
