This isn't my first fic, but it is my first for Shaman King, and my first with this username. Plus, I haven't written in a really long time. Have fun reading, and please review!

Anna had been thinking a lot lately… mostly about herself. Not in a vain or selfish way, though, but about things like her personality and her past.
She had never intended on being the way she was—so cold, and distant—that was, well, just the way it turned out. It's just… for her whole life she had told herself that she was the only one she could really trust. And she had believed that—that is, until she met him.
At first she had found
him merely foolish and naive; his childish smile bothersome, his
ignorance tiring… but people kept trying to push them together,
which is why she wasn't really surprised when they told her. She
wasn't angry, either, and for two reasons. The first was that she
knew being the wife of the Shaman King would come at a price, even if
it meant marrying someone she didn't love.
The second reason was:
she didn't have to love him.
So she went on with her life; hating him, then pretending to hate him, then pretending to dislike him, then pretending to feel nothing towards him at all. After all… she didn't have to love him.
But she did, as it turned out, she loved him.
In fact, looking back on it, she realized that she had loved him ever since she first heard him say that silly phrase of his…
"Things will work out…"
And, in the end, they did.
"Hey, Anna," a voice interrupted her from her thoughts. She turned from her bedroom window to see Yoh standing in the doorway, smiling at her.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked her cheerfully.
She quickly formulated a lie. "I was thinking of what I wanted for dinner," she answered calmly.
Yoh laughed, moving a hand behind his head. "You have a one-track mind, don't you Anna?"
You have no idea…
