It was a typical Friday when I met Dean. I had stopped in at my favorite coffee shop, The Cafe, for lunch. It was ideal because not many people went there. It was warm, had good food, and great coffee. I walked up to the counter and ordered a sandwich, and black coffee. I just wanted to relax and have my caffeine. I turned around and headed to the back dim corner. There, I sat down on a dark brown leather couch. It's definitely seen better days, but it's comfortable.

So I curled up with my lunch, and a book, ready to just unwind. About five minutes later, however, someone sat down next to me. I looked up and saw the most attractive man I have ever laid eyes on. He was tall- a good six feet- with light brown hair, and green eyes.

"Hi. I'm Dean," he introduced. The simplicity and confidence that he acquainted himself with astonished me. Then, he smiled; it was captivating.

"Castiel." I answered.

"So, Castiel, what brings you to The Cafe alone on a Friday night?"

"I was just trying to get away from my family." It was true. I had spent the entire day with Gabriel and Balthazar and they were driving me insane. You see, it's my birthday, so they both flew in yesterday to surprise me. And they both have "huge plans," and if you know my brothers, you run in the opposite direction as fast as you can. So when the moment presented itself I snuck away.

"Ah, family. Yea they can be a huge pain in the ass, but you gotta love em," he answered with a smile. Something about this made me want to ask him more.

"You have siblings?"

"A younger brother, Sammy, and sister, Charlie. I haven't seen either of them in a few months though. Sammy's out at college, and Charlie's off traveling the world."

"Oh, that must be tough not being able to see them."

"Nah! Christmas break starts soon, so they'll be coming home for a few weeks."

After that, Dean and I talked for another hour. It was bliss. I hadn't met anyone before that was so easy to talk to. We talked about everything and nothing. We both loved hunting, Star Wars, good music, and most of all, coffee. At about 8pm Dean looked at his watch then jumped up almost spilling both of our cold, long forgotten coffees.

"Uhm, I'm sorry man, but I've gotta go. Maybe I'll see you around again?" He looked so scared. What happened in the last few seconds that could have frightened him so much? I hadn't noticed anything different. Just a glance at the clock and he was like a deer trapped in headlights. I just wanted to comfort him anyway I could, but considering we had just met, there wasn't much I could do.

"Yeah, see you around Dean."
