Author's Note: As mentioned, this is a series of eleven 200-word drabbles focused around Jade and Catherine (an original character) of Tales of the Abyss. It is titled "Liars" because of the continuous lies Jade and Catherine tell - both to themselves and to each other. The chapters are in chronological order, although they take place at different moments in time. The chapter titles are Latin words that, more or less, describe the mood of the drabble. I had a lot of fun writing these, and I hope you enjoy reading them. Write me a review if you have the time, I'd love to hear how I'm doing. Cheers!

Curator (guardian, overseer)

She always controlled the club as if she owned the place. Frankly, she nearly did. Everyone knew she came on Friday nights, which in turn influenced the attendance of the rest of the Keterburg youth - she was the master of churning up a great party. It was considered a great feat to dance with Catherine - she was the feature of many a fantasy. This certainly angered Jade, who considered himself to be her protector. Catherine had no desire for a protector, though, she sought excitement, and laughed at Jade for his old-fashioned ideas. As a best friend, however, he had a duty to her.

As he entered, Jade found her grinding against a knight-in-training from Daath - no one was immune to her. Her sexy blue dress laid flat against her waist as she twisted against the knight. When she spotted Jade, she whispered in the Daathian's ear and swam her way through the throngs of people to him.

"Jade!" she shouted over the pumping bass. "You made it!"

"Class let out early," he grinned, fighting to stay upright against the crowd. "Thought I'd make an appearance."

"Glad to hear it. Now, are you going to dance with me, or what?"
