Summary: It's the night before Sokka gets married. He gets an unexpected vision… have fun!!!
Sokka looked around the Earth Kingdom Island. He would be settling here forever. He and his Kyoshi warrior. He supposed that he should be grateful that he had Suki. He loved her with his whole heart. Wait that was a lie. He loved her, yes, but there would always be one part that would never belong to her. It belongs to the moon. He looked around and noticed that he was on the beach. The moon was full and the sight of its reflection on the ocean took his breath away.
Memories of the Northern Water Tribe flooded his mind. He couldn't believe that it had been five years since that day. Since the war had ended, he had settled with Suki. That was almost three years… damn time flew. But whenever he thought of that time in the north, one image filled his mind. The first love of his life. Yue. He hadn't thought about her for so long… she had always been at the back of his mind until just recently. Even during the Fire Nation invasion, she hadn't been on his mind. What would she say to that?
"I'd say that
I'm happy for you," a voice whispered. Sokka turned. In a
shroud of white mist, there she stood. She had aged, if that was
possible. She had filled her curves and she had become womanly. Could
spirits age?
"Yes, silly, we can," she replied. He
reached a hand out to touch her. She shook her head.
"I'm here to tell you that it's alright. I'm always watching you… even if you forget, I won't. I'll be waiting for you forever… that was always my destiny," she said. She smiled her tender smile. Tears came down Sokka's cheeks before he could stop them. She became solid for one moment and reached out to his cheek. He grasped her hand to his and held it to his cheek. She smiled at him sadly.
"Why?" he choked out.
"To tell you that I'm happy. You have a wonderful woman… she will take care of you," she said to him.
"I love you," Sokka stated crying.
"I love you too. It's time to let me go, Sokka," she said.
"Yue… a part of my heart will always belong to you…" he said. She slowly nodded and vanished from his sight. He collapsed on the ground crying.
The next day he got married. Zuko was his best man. Katara was Suki's maid of honor. Aang and Toff were in the back making out. They did that a lot these days. Those two couldn't keep their hands off each other. Zuko took Katara's hand and smiled tenderly. Those two were spending so much time together that it was sickening to Sokka to watch. But, he had his own happiness today. He had the love of his life as his wife. The woman of his dreams, on the other hand, was always with him in his dreams.
As the day progressed into night, he pondered every little memory that he had with Yue. It wasn't something that someone should do on his or her wedding night, but he couldn't help it. She had been everything to him when they had first met. He looked out onto the beach. A lone figure stood shrouded in white. The figure turned and smiled at Sokka.
"I'll always be watching you," she whispered into the breeze. He smiled and laughed. Well, at least she was his guardian angel.
A/N: what do you think? It's a completely random thing. It was inspired by some random song that I was listening to… please read and review!!!
