Nobody understands her, and they never will, because shes Effy Stonem.

She knows its wrong, wrong that she keeps Freddie hanging onto the fact that he believes that they might have something together but she knows that she could never choose, because choosing Freddie over Cook would tear her heart into two divided pieces, nobodys knows, because it's what she feels.

She loved Cook but she loved Freddie. It was hard, waking up every morning fighting a battle between love. Love was the hardest thing Effy struggled with, it frightened her because it was hard to let someone into your heart without being afraid it would get broken.

Freddie and Cook trying to win her affections and her not doing anything about it, it was hurting people but they didn't know much it was hurting her. She never meant to hurt anybody, she just got so lost in her own thoughts that she didn't even think to consider what it might have done to people beside herself.

She never intended to cause harm or pain to anybody, JJ and Katie was just there. JJ loved her, she knew that much but he was too much of a wimp to do anything about it really besides, she didn't love him. Then there was Katie, there was no ammount of words that could justify her actions for hitting her over the head with a rock and leaving her to die, die alone, in the woods, not even any amount of drugs could justify it.

Even though she knew what she had done to Katie, she still remained silent.

She was scared, she was only human.

She knew sometimes that she can seem like a bitch and she knew Katie was competition, but she wasn't. Being a bitch was just the mask she wore to hide her true emotions.

When the truth came out that she had hit Katie with a rock and left her to die in the woods utterly alone, she also felt alone and the only person she could turn to was him, Cook and then they ran away together into the sunset of god knows where in hopes they would his father.

Leaving home behind also pained her because her mum was just like her right now, alone. Her dad however, was nowhere to be found and it did worry her but nobody cared, not her mum, nobody, so why should she?

The car drive was silent, and she liked silence, it allowed her to gather unspoken words that would never leave her lips.

She avoided words. Words spoke the truth, and the truth hurt. She didn't cry, because crying meant she was weak and weak meant she was vulnerable, and she wasn't, she was Effy, and nobody understood her, and they never would.
