Happy Gone Sad
Disclaimer- I don't own Harry Potter
Summary- Sirius's good day turns bad.
The students of Hogwarts were happily playing outside on the beautiful day that was today. Albus Dumbledore announced that morning that all classes were cancelled for the day on account of the beautiful hot day. Every student was outside, either playing or doing school work.
Inside the castle somewhere near the bottom sat one greasy hair professor, Severus Snape was in a bad mood. As usual. He barely slept the night before, he had spent most of the night before and all day grading stupid papers. Severus just finished reading another potions essay, the quill he was holding in his hand suddenly snapped. Severus dropped the quill and shook away the little bit of ink that had gotten on his hand.
Outside one incredibly happy black dog wandered the grounds. He yipped and barked at some of the students who were paying attention to him. Everyone was fully aware of who the animagus was, Sirius Black-Snape. No one dared to disappoint the husband of the most feared potions master. And Sirius was well aware of that. He happily strolled through the grounds.
Eventually the sun started going down, Sirius sat and watched the students head inside for dinner, he made it his duty to walk around one last time and make sure everyone was inside. He was just passing Hagrid's Hut and shuddered as he walked past the forbidden forest. He stopped dead in his tracks when he heard something moving in side. Silently Sirius walked forward before letting out a loud squeal. He immediately held his paw of in the air, he gently placed it back down and whimpered at the shocking pain. Ever so slowly Padfoot made his way back to the castle whimpering with each step, he did a happy dance in his head the minute he reached the castle. Climbing the steps very carefully, Sirius slowly limped his way to the dungeons, hopefully his husband was there. Everyone was in the Great Hall having dinner so nobody was there to help him. Sirius sighed happily at the sight of the portrait that head to his husbands quarters, the portrait was a giant snake trying to eat to a lion. Sirius stood in front of the portrait, and bark. He waited a few seconds before letting out a louder bark. He bark a couple of more time before he heard something being thrown at the door, Sirius smirked mentally and bark a couple more times before he heard loud annoyed footsteps stomping there way towards the door. The door swung open, Sirius wagged his tail at the angry potions master.
"What do you want?" Sirius limped and whimpered his way past the potions master and into their quarters.
"What happened?" Severus asked walking over to the injured puppy, who was laying on the couch. Sirius lifted his injured paw to his husband as the older man crouched down in front of the couch.
"Oh poor you." He sympathized to the dog, he slowly got up and walked over to his desk to get his wand, walking back to the couch he took the paw in his hand again and gently tapped it with his wand.
Sirius whimpered as he felt the splinter being dislodged from his paw. As a animagus, Sirius had incredibly sensitive paws. Severus cast a silent spell and his paw stung for a second before turning cold.
"You can change back now." Severus said and he turned around to put his wand back. Sirius did as told and changed back human. Severus came back over to the only slightly younger man and gave him a pair of pants to put on. Once Sirius was dressed Severus pulled him into his arms, he gently whipped the tears away from Sirius eyes.
"Your okay, love."
"I know, I just hate splinters." Sirius buried his head more firmly into his husband chest. "Thank you."
"Anytime."
