Relena/Milliardo Centric

There is so much that she wishes she could say. But between them lie years full of lies and blood. It is not an easy thing to discard. Though she thinks it should be, after all isn't blood thicker than water? And so they'll talk about random things, things that don't really matter. Things that have no weight and are safe because the subject that should be breeched is perhaps too painful or maybe they're both cowards. So they'll talk, and have lunch littered with awkward pauses and simple 'so…' and silences that shouldn't be there.

Perhaps he still feels guilty. Perhaps this is all there ever will be to their relationship, simple hellos and hollow goodbyes. He's not that much older than her, not really. But the chasm that opened between them has many memories that neither share nor know about the other. They are strangers that shared a brief knowledge of love for each other for a few seconds during war.

She does not know him.

He does not know her.

The only thing that ties them together is blood and a last name that she gave up. Perhaps if they tried harder, they could go somewhere. Perhaps they could create new memories to bridge this chasm between them. They are brother and sister; it shouldn't be this weird or this hard. Lunch is filled with small smiles, small laughs, careful words and so many things left unsaid. It shouldn't be this hard. It really shouldn't.

Notes: I was thinking about Relena and Zechs/Milliardo and how I often see them portrayed as having a great relationship with each other, and so I wrote this as another portrayal. I figure they'd have much to talk about afterwards and that they'd be somewhat awkward at first. Anyways. Hope you enjoyed.
