THE JOURNEY OF NINE
Legolas is an Elven prince so fair
With light blue eyes and long blonde hair
The heir of Isildur the rugged Aragorn
Who will protect Frodo as he had sworn
"You have my axe" where the words spoke
By Gimli, that little bloke
Boromir was by his father sent
To snatch the ring he would later repent
If there was a wizard who could protect them all
It would be Gandalf who stood so tall
Then three little hobbits who by Frodo stood
They would always help him as much they could
Frodo Baggins stood bold yet fearful
With the fate of Middle-Earth he had no time to be tearful
They all left Rivendell with their task in mind
But soon at Moria it would slow to a grind
Gandalf at the bridge of Khazad-Dum was lost
He fell to the Balrog who over the edge was tossed
They followed on with little hope in their heart
With their friend Gandalf it was hard to part
But soon they rose and travelled again
Arriving in the woodland realm of Lothlorien
There they met the oldest and fairest Elf
Galadriel, who looked in perfect health
She gave to them gifts to help them on their way
For only a day or two did they stay
They left feeling refreshed and clean
But the fellowship broke to Orcs to mean
They killed Boromir, Merry and Pippin they took
But Sam and Frodo continued to look
For mount doom their eyes had scanned
Their journey was not going as planned
A different was Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli ran
To that of Frodo and of Sam
The group of three left with hopes soaring high
They would not leave Merry and Pippin to die
Soon Frodo and Sam did sight
Mount Doom in all it's ghoulish might
They stood together as friend and friend
Many more evils they would have to fend
"I don't expect we'll see them again" said Frodo
"We may yet Mr Frodo" was the reply
And so the two travelled on on with little of a sigh
Together they would have to cope
Or else Middle Earth couldn't trust to hope.
