I had always entertained myself with exposing the soft nature of those characters who are cool and aloof...:D

And for this, my number one favorite is Ayanami...:D sorry if it's short..I lost touch of what I was thinking.

The reason

Ayanami had been resting in his room, with all the lights off, when unexpected visions from his past before he came into the military some years ago. It wasn't a very pleasant memories, and he had tried his best not to dwell on it long for his human feelings gets the best of him. His memories consists of a young woman, two years his junior, and of the times he had been with her.

As he lay there in his bed, staring at the dark canopy above, he remembered those times when he would be spending time with her in a garden full of roses, or just walking by the perimeter of a villa. He remembered her smile, her cheerful face, and her slender hands which he liked to hold in his. But he cannot much remember her voice that had once sung to him when he was taking his nap on her lap for the military came knocking on the door and their lives were changed...

Ayanami caught himself just in time to feel that his eyes are watery, almost in the verge of tears. He blinked it away, shaking his head. He should keep his emotions in check. If he ever show this side of him to anyone, apart from his usual cold and aloof expression, he's sure that they'll make use of it against him.

"Aya-tan." he heard someone said from the corner of his room. He knew who it was, for only one man can enter his room without making any sound. Ayanami sat up slowly.

"What is it now, Hyuuga?"

"I was feeling nostalgic." Hyuuga said, as he turned on the lights. "Thought I must talk to someone who feels the same."

Ayanami looked at him hard. Then, he just smirked.

"For some reason, you make me think that you know what I'm thinking." he said. Hyuuga shrugged, sucking on a candied apple that he had brought out of nowhere. Ayanami scowled at this.

"I told you no eating in my room."

"Sorry Aya-tan." Hyuuga replied. "Just can't help it."

"I swear your sweet tooth is getting worst day by day. Just how many candied apple had you eaten yesterday?"

Hyuuga had to ponder on this. "Ten, perhaps more..."

Ayanami shook his head. "So, what brings you here late at night?"

"I was feeling nostalgic." Hyuuga repeated. "I know you miss her too."

"Who would I miss?" Ayanami asked innocently.

"Come now, Aya-tan. You don't have to conceal it." Hyuuga chided lightly. "You miss my baby sister, don't you?"

"How dare you accuse me." Ayanami replied. "You miss her more, since she's the only one apart from your comrades in the Black Hawk that can stand your craziness of sweets."

Hyuuga smiled. "That's right."

Ayanami only smiled. A genuine smile that he would only show to her, and to Hyuuga. The two of them lapsed into an understanding silence, until two in the morning when Ayanami decided that he can no longer sleep and the two of them took coffee together, waiting for the rest of the Black Hawk to wake up and start the day.
