I thought of this as I was reading the series and I originally thought of the story as some cross-dimensional thing like Eric Flint's 1632 series or Stirling's Nantucket series, as a group of Americans from our world somehow appear in this world and introduce many of our ideals, mainly democracy and equality. But I decided to scrap that and see the events of the American Revolution happen in Westeros, but within the common folk rising up without help from those outside their universe, throwing the yokes of lords and kings off their backs. I do not own ASOIAF , that's Mr. Martin's baby, I will gain nothing from this.

Westeros, for two years have fought a war known as the War of the Five Kings, causing great misery and devastation of the common folk who live in the lands that are burned and sacked. Angered at the whole idea of a monarchy, a group of merchants, farmers, and some noblemen formed a new government a rejection of the whole system , known as The Republic of Westeros.
