Chapter 1

Alex Russo was breathing hard and crying at the same time. Nothing seemed right, and nothing seemed fair. She grasped anything that was hers and shoved it in the box. All while watching the clock. Her goal would be to be out there by noon. Before he came home.

Alex closed the full box and wondered why there was so much stuff of hers there. She then stumbled upon a picture of Nate and herself, him sitting on the grass, leaning against a tree. And her, in his arms, leaning against him and they were both smiling at the reporter. Alex fingered the crack in the picture, which brought fresh tears.

"Alex, sit for a minute, okay?" Nate whispered, pointing to their bed. Alex looked at him, but sat. "Do you know, how sometimes, people change their minds about something?"

"Yeah…but what's that have to do with us?" She asked, fidgeting uncomfortably. Nate sighed, running his hand over his face, like he did when he had serious business on his mind. Alex did not like that.

"Alex, honey, sometimes when people go on tours, year long tours, they change their minds about stuff," he continued, not really getting to the point. Nate knew if he came right out with it, it'd only hurt more. If anything, he'd wish she would catch on herself.

"Alex, I met someone on tour."

Alex sat there, cocking her head a bit. "And? You're a star, of course you're going to meet cool celebs!"

Nate sighed. "Listen, okay, Alexandra-,"

"Why are you using my full name, Nate? You never do that unless something is serious," Alex interrupted, eyes full of concern. "Did something happen with Jason? Or Shane?" She stood up, too anxious.

"Alex! Listen." Nate sat her down, this time sitting next to her. "Listen. I met someone. As in…I'm in love with her," he whispered the last part. Alex took a few seconds. She removed her hands from his slowly, staring at the ground, eyebrows inward. She stood up.

"You're telling me…you…fell in love with someone ELSE?" Alex asked, eyes focused on his. "Like…you…LOVE LOVE her? As in…this is the end for US?" She waited as his head hung low. "That's it, isn't it?" Alex grabbed a nearby lamp. "You've been FUCKING her all this time, huh?!" She threw it at him. Nate dodged it.

"Alex! No! I'd never do that!"

"LIAR! You were fucking her all this time I thought you loved me! You probably called her while I wasn't around, or took her out!" Alex threw a pile of books, which Nate, fortunately, dodged.

"Alex, I swear, I never would hurt you like-,"

Another object.

Alex picked up the frame of them. "We've been together for 4 years! FOUR YEARS! And you have been lying a whole year! We're THROUGH!" She threw the photograph down, looking up with tears in her eyes. "It's over," she whispered, sniffing and running out. Nate, leaning against the wall, put his head on his folding hands, crying silently.

A|N: It's not much but I hope you like it. :]]
