Disclaimer: Samurai Champloo is not mine, neither are the characters.:P
Fuu is more hurt than angry when Mugen grabs the money from her to go to the brothel. He prefers to pay women to fuck them than to take her. She will never tell him about the cold hopeless feeling she gets when he does that. She feels Jin behind her and doesn't pull away when he begins to lead her to a food stall, guiding her by a hand to the lower back.
Jin watches her pain and though he hates that she hurts he is pleased as well, if the pirate hurts her enough she will turn to him completely. He knows she cares for both of them deeply but he will not share her once he gets her, he would rather kill the pirate but that would hurt Fuu so he doesn't.
Mugen picks a girl with brown hair and huge eyes. The eyes are souless and the moans as he enters are fake because this is just a replacement for what he wants but he can't have her, he loves her innocence too much. So he breaks her heart, yes he knows, and fucks girls that looks kind of like her, but not too close that could cause problems.
Fuu has accepted that she really had no choice; only one of her loves wanted her. Mugen is at the brothel again and she and Jin have a room. When Jin begins to undress her she doesn't object. He slips her clothes off slowly, exposing her to his sight like a morning glory at dawn. When he gently pushes her down and simply drinks in her body she blushes.
Jin traces her curves that are so well hidden by her kimono. He kisses her breasts and then up her neck until he draws her into a deep kiss. She will be his tonight and to make sure she understands that he will dictate how tonight goes. He's still dressed as he parts her legs, she doesn't resist. He kneels up and simple stares at her virgin sex, he takes great pride to know that he is the first to see it.
Mugen trudges toward the inn grumbling. There were no brown haired girls at this brothel; none with huge doe eyes either. It seems he can't enjoy sex unless the girl looks right, he hates that, but he doesn't blame Fuu as he would have a year ago, he blames Jin. After all it was Jin who said that neither of them were worthy of her. When he enters the room his vision goes red.
Fuu can't believe that Mugen has just entered the room. She sees the pure hatred in his gaze as he looks at Jin. Jin however looks cold and calculating and Fuu knows; Jin convinced Mugen to stay away. If this had been a story she would be smitten by the man who had gone to such lengths for a girl but it isn't and she knows that this is part of their rivalry, Jin was just trying to one up Mugen.
Jin's face doesn't change but his eyes shine with fire. This was his win, Fuu was meant to be his. He grabs his sword and dives at his fellow traveler but Mugen is quicker. Their swords click and spark and he knows only one of them will end up winning, and he knows that he may have been foolish to have destroyed their group but he was sick of being the disciplined one. It may just be his undoing.
Mugen does think he only reacts. He has been betrayed too many times, he will not allow this. He knows somewhere deep inside that part of his rage is because of Jin's deception of Fuu, she didn't deserve that. He is more animal than man as he slices through the samurai's abdomen. No one hurts Fuu and lives.
The next day the pirate and the waitress bury the samurai.
Fuu knows that she will never find the sunflower samurai, it just doesn't seem important any more. Mugen teaches her to fight with and without a sword. She is glad because she wants to be able to protect herself. She still bickers with him but it's lighter and there is always a glimmer of mirth in both their eyes. She started out as a helpless little waitress but now she is a warrior and she is very proud of that.
