Heaving her heavy pack off her back, Kagome rolled her tense shoulders in a circle and sighed as she squinted tiredly through the sun at the huge white house in front of her.

"Well, this is it." she sighed, consulting the small white square of note paper in her hand. "Drury Lane, home of the rich, yet not very famous. Which would be, of course, the home of the Takahashis." crumpling up the address in her fist, Kagome lifted her ratty duffel and started up the long steps. Halfway up, she bumped into something unmovable.

"Excuse me, Ma'am."

Kagome looked up into a very solid chest with nice pecs. "Oh, Hi! I'm here to see Mr. Takahashi." Kagome grinned, craning her neck up. While his chest was quite attractive, it would probably not go over well if she continued staring.

The security guard smiled. "Do you have a appointment?"

Kagome grunted, her neck was cramping with the strain of looking up so high. "A what?"

Taking her by her shoulders, Tall, Dark and Handsome pointed her back down the stairs. "If you want to talk to Mr. Takahashi, I'm afraid you must call and make an appointment. But me," he added, a cocky grin spreading over his face. "You can talk to me whenever you want too."

"Well I know that," Kagome snorted. "You're only a security guard. But I really need to talk to Mr. Takahashi. Its an emergency. And besides, I don't have any money to phone him!" Ducking under his arm, she dashed for the door, only to have the security guard grab the back of her shirt and draw her back as she scrabbled on the dirt for perchance.

"And what's all this about, then?" an amused voice asked. "Kouga, let go of this young lady, please." Dark Hair let go of Kagome and snapped to attention so quickly Kagome lost her balance and tumbled to the ground. "What's this this emergency of yours, miss?" Mr. Takahashi asked, a twinkle in his eye as Kagome picked herself up and swiped the dust off.

"Well, sir." she mumbled under her breath, hiding her face under her long hair. "My mom kinda died two weeks ago from cancer, and grandfather says I'm too much trouble to keep in the house seeing as I take up space and tossed me out, but he kept Sota, Sota is my little brother. And nobody will let me kip with them, and I just can't sleep on the streets, sir. That's disgusting." Her top lip curled to show just how much she was disgusted.

"Would you like my help finding you a shelter of some sort?" He asked. Kagome bit her lip, then answered slowly, grinning apologetically up at the white haired figure. "Well, I was kinda hoping I could lodge here."

The old man's eyebrows shot up. "Here? I know my generosity surpasses most of my kind, but that is going just a little too far. May I ask why I would be so generous to someone I don't even know?"

"Sir." Kagome paused, glancing up at him, then down again. Clasping her hands tightly behind her back, her voice gained strength. "Sir, I believe you are my father."
