Prologue

"Sammy, be careful, I don't want the mat to spark and the house to burn down." The girl snapped at her little brother.

"I am being careful Bloom," he replied, but as he did, the mat caught a spark, and caught aflame. She snatched Sammy from the burning mat as I started to catch the rest of the straw that was spread about the floor.

"Keep your head down," Bloom, informed, putting her hand on the back of her brother's head, putting it in the crook of her neck. The house was soon completely engulfed, fire blazing everywhere. Then, the structure started to collapse. "Sammy, Run!" The sister yelled, setting her brother on the ground, and pushing him towards the door. Then, the roof collapsed and she threw her brother across, each child on one side of the burning roof structure.

"BLOOM!" Sammy screamed.

"Sammy, run out the door, go," she ordered.

"But what about you?" the boy asked.

"I'll find another way out, just go." Bloom said. The terror-stricken boy hesitated, but ran out the door, just as it came down. Bloom raced through the house, and up the stairs, to the room of her sleeping baby sister. She scooped her up and ran as fast as she could down the stairs and out the back door of her house. "Sammy, hold Emma," Bloom said, handing her baby sister off to her little brother, then dashed back into the house.

"BLOOM!" Molly screamed. Molly was Sammy's twin. Bloom used all her body weight and flung it at the door, finally getting it down.

"Molly, come here." Bloom cooed, coaxing her sister from under the bed. She held the girl close, then ran back towards the back door, only to see that another piece of the structure had fallen down.

"Molly listen, I'm gonna throw you across okay?" Bloom instructed. The girl nodded, and then hugged her sister tightly. Bloom carefully detached her sister's arms then threw her across the flame. Molly shrieked as she flew then landed, but scrambled from the ground and away from the burning house. Bloom ran around the house, trying to find a way out. Then, she heard a loud cracking from above her. She snapped up her head just in time for a piece of the roof to fall on top of her, pinning her back against the floor. She saw a glance of the moon, before everything went black. She woke up with no memory, and the powers of fire and ability of her namesake, bloom.

On that same day, Jack was with his little sister on thin ice.

"Listen, we'll do just like hopscotch, like every day." Jack said, reaching out the curved stick to grab his sister just in case. She carefully hooped once, twice, then Jack swung her to the thicker ice, but sliding over to the thin ice, and falling through, also catching a glance of the moon, and no memory.
