Hello all, it's me again. This idea has been in my head for a while now, but I could never figure out how to make it actually work(We've all been there right?). Anyways it finally hit me while my school was having a "Chemical Spill" evacuation drill. So don't be to harsh, but this story will be probably be updated twice a month(Junior year of Highschool is whipping me something fierce).
I Do not own Tom & Jerry or RWBY.
Mistral 12 Years Ago: Unnamed Village
As morning rose over the village and the shop owners began opening their stores, no one paid close attention to the little girl with greenish blue hair, dark skin, red eyes, dressed in a tattered school uniform. That is until one of the shopkeepers saw the girls hand reach for an apple…. "Get away you little thief!" the man yelled, frightening the young girl as she was chased into a dark alley. Panting from the exertion, The young girl began to cry as she was once again alone, hungry, and will probably stay that way until she dies of starvation.
Sometimes though, fate has other plans for us.
Suddenly standing before the girl were two boys, both were faunus' though they were of two different kinds. One looked to be around the same age as her, he had greyish blue hair, with two cats ears instead of human ones, a tail, and whiskers. He wore a pale blue t-shirt and tattered jeans, and an old pair of white sneakers.
The younger boy was in every way his opposite, where the cat had fair skin, the younger boy had slightly tan or brown skin, brown eyes, and even brown hair. Ironicially the younger boy was a mouse faunus, with a pair of mouse ears situated right above his human pair, as well as a mouse tail swishing behind him. He is dressed in a brown and cream t-shirt, brown shorts, and brown moccasin like shoes. The two boys looked at the girl before them with different expressions, the older one with an air of caution, while his friend(brother?) had the largest smile on his face.
After the two of them had a brief silent discussion, the younger one approached the girl and said "Hi, I'm Jerry, Jerry Mouse! And this is my brother!". The older boy rolled his eyes and continued "I'm Thomas, Thomas "Jasper" Cat, and before you ask, I understand how crazy our "situation" sounds." Jerry nodded his head throughout Tom's talk, before asking the girl "what's your name?" The girl looked back and forth between the two of them before stuttering "E...ee..Emerald, Emerald Sustrai."
"Well Emerald" Tom began "My little brother here saw you being chased away by the shopkeeper, and seeing as how we're orphans as well-" "I'm not an orphan!" Emerald protested, "...Then where are your parents?" Jerry asked "their… they're gone." Emerald began to sob, this went on for a few minutes, making both of the boys uncomfortable.
"Hey,hey, don't start cry"Tom tried to reassure the young girl, "As I was going to say, how about you join up with me and my brother? Where trying to track down Jerry's father, since he left his mom a letter explaining why he couldn't stay with them, cause his semblance is bad luck." after he finished explaining their situation to Emerald, the young girl just asked "...Why are you being so nice to me? I mean, we're not friends." Before Tom could reply, jerry interrupted " Well, why aren't we friends? You seem like a good person."
This only shocked Emerald even more, "You mean it?, you really want to be my friends?" Tom could only shake his head "Is it that hard to believe? Besides I can't say no to Jerry when he's made up his mind, it just causes me a major headache."
With that being said, the two brothers helped their new friend up to her feet. "Come on, we know a good restaurant that doesn't lock up its dumpsters, it's not exactly sanitary but its free food." Tom smirked as he heard Emeralds stomach growled. "Yay! We're going to Tweety's!" Jerry joyously yelled, getting a laugh out of both Tom and Emerald. 'This might not be so bad…' the young girl thought, before following the two brothers down the alley.
Two Years Later: Mantle
"...Are you sure you want to come with us to this Em?" Tom asked, "I mean, these protests aren't exactly safe, for Human or Faunus."
Emerald simply stared defiantly at the nine year old boy before her, instead of her old uniform she now wore a green t-shirt and brown pants, and her hair was put into a pair of pig tails. "...I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that from you. Aren't you and Jerry always going on about how we're a family? Well then if you two are going to a White Fang Protest, then so am I." She then smirked, "Besides, you owe me for nabbing Jerry's birthday gift this year."
Tom had the decency to look embarrassed while Jerry simply laughed. The seven year old boy's appearance hasn't changed much over the past two years, save for the addition of a special set of headphones, they had two speakers that covered Jerry's human ears, while earplugs connected to the main set went into his ears. The young faunus had taken an interest in music, Tom encouraged it, as he to enjoyed music and was particularly adept at playing instruments like the guitar, the cello, and the piano.
Knowing she had a point, Tom just harrumphed "Alright you win, Come on Jerry let's get going." "Coming Tom!" Jerry replied, as he leaped up onto his feet, Emerald continued to smirk triumphantly. After wandering around the city where the protest was taking place for a place to stay, the three of them were immediately drawn to a rather impressive hotel "Man I would love to stay in a place like that." Jerry muttered wistfully, Tom and Emerald could only nod their heads in agreement, as all three of them heard their stomachs growl rather loudly. "...How about he find something to eat first?" Tom suggested, "Let's do that" Emerald agreed, looking around to see if anyone had heard the rather embarrassing sound, but as usual no one paid them any attention. The three friends began to wander around trying to figure out what they wanted to eat, only to realise they didn't have any money to pay for food. "Hhhhmmmm, should we loot the dumpsters?" Jerry asked, "No, I'm not that hungry or desperate yet, lets just pick some rich guy's wallet, it will be easy." Emerald said with an evil grin on her face as she contemplated the look on the mark's face when they realized their wallet was missing.
"But stealings bad." Jerry frowned, "So is starving to death" Emerald retorted. This went on for a few minutes, Tom on his wits end was about to snap at both of them before he smelled something, "Hey guys do you smell that?" Stopping their argument temporarily, Emerald and Jerry realized they too smelled something, it was the smell of fresh bread, fish, and other undetermined foods. Following their noses the trio came upon a mouth watering sight.
A group of seven faunus where gathered around a large picnic area, three of them were cat faunus, one was a bull, and three appeared to be human but upon closer inspection revealed themselves to be reptilian faunus of some sort. It was clear to the trio that the group had long since finished eating, and had left quite a large amount of food uneaten. After a brief mental discussion, the three friends had come up with a plan to get that food…
