Piper = 19 years old

Phoebe = 17 years old

Paige = 14 years old

(Paige is sitting in her room on the bed when Phoebe walks by)

Phoebe: What's wrong baby sister?

Paige: Nothing it's just that sometimes I feel like a spare. I feel like Prue's spare and that's why our mom conceived me, in case something happened to Prue.

Phoebe: Oh Paigey, you're not a spare. You're our baby sister

Paige: Thanks Phee

Phoebe: You're welcome (exits the room)

Paige: (singing) I'm not part of the town, not born to be super witch

Just somebody hopelessly in-between

She's the scholar, athlete, poet

I'm the screw up, don't I know it

But then who could ever compare?

Of course they're gonna think I'm just the spare

Well I won't care

So I'm the extra button on a coat

In case another one comes loose

But if I have to be a button

Why can't I be a button that's of use? (oops!)

I may lack style and I may lack grace

And once in a while I might fall on my face

But this little button deserves a place in the sky

This button wants to fly

Wait, buttons can't fly, that doesn't make any sense!

So I'm a rusty horseshoe hanging up

Over somebody's old barn door

And I'll be hanging there forever

Just wishing the horse had one leg more

And maybe I can't be the perfect one

And maybe I err on the side of fun

But horseshoes need a chance to run somewhere

This horseshoe is more than just a spare

Someday I'll find my thing

A thing that's all my own

That thing that makes me part of something

Not just all alone

If only all this feeling I have in my heart

Could mean something to someone, how I'd love to play that part

So I'm just the extra sister

Who most of the town ignores

Like a button, like a horseshoe

Like a girl who's bad at metaphors

Maybe I don't have a magic touch

And maybe I don't have a talent as such

Just this heart with much too much to share

So I'll never be the super witch, but I'm more than just the spare

(Sorry!)

(Piper walks in)

Piper: You're more than just a spare. Paigey, I'm going to sing you a song that Prue wrote for me when I felt like her spare in high school.

Paige: (unsure) Ok

Piper: (singing) Other people walk through life where you prefer to skip

And other people watch their step where you'll most likely trip

Sure, your hair's not perfect,

And there'swhat's that on your clothes?

Yeah, you're kinda talkative

With pink rosy cheeks

But you're you...you-you,

And that's what makes me smile.

You're you...you-you

So stay that way a while.

Paige: (opens her mouth to talk)

Piper: (singing) You don't have to say a thing, I know the way you feel.

Your face is like an open book; so honest true and real.

Other people lie and cheat,

When push may come to shove.

Your heart doesn't work like that,

So you're the sister I love.

You're you...you-you,

That's how I hope you stay.

You're you...you-you.

But anyway, that's all I've got to say.

Paige: Gee, thanks Piper. I didn't know you felt that way about me.

Piper: You're welcome Paigey. I love you

Paige: I love you too Piper

(Years later: Paige and Phoebe: Phoebe is 19 and Paige is 16)

Paige: I'm never gonna compare to Prue. She is always gonna be better

Phoebe: How many times do we have to go over this? You are not a spare, you are just as special and gifted as Prue.

Paige: But I can't do everything that she could

Phoebe: She was older and had been using her powers longer

Paige: (hugs Phoebe) Ok thanks Phee

Phoebe: No problem, baby sister. I love you

Paige: I love you too, Phee
