A/N: So, this is my first SA Fanfic… so don't judge me too harshly. It's definitely not my best. I think there's a few grammatical errors, but please overlook them.
I don't own Spring Awakening. Not even a little bit.

The stars had left her. Leaving Ilse Nuemann cold and abandoned under the blank nights sky. Just moments ago, she could see a sheet of shimmering lights covering the blank canvas of black sky. But now, only the mist, the fog, and the trees that surrounded the clearing.
She licked her chapped lips, and tasted the dew in the air. She wouldn't cry now. She told herself this. But still, she thought of Moritz, somewhere off in these very woods. He seemed so lonely, afraid, but he masked it very well. Dammit, what's wrong with me? She thought, feeling a pounding in her temple, brought on from trying to fight back the tears amounting in her eyes. She squeezed one tiny hand into a tight fist, and pounded the rain dampened grass, wiping away any wetness I her eyes.
She'd heard him scream her name, but she was too afraid to turn back. She heard the sound of his calling her echoing off of the trees. But she didn't dare run back to him. It was selfish of her to not return at his calling, for she could see there was something wrong with him. She could see the sadness buried deep inside his dark black eyes. She thought of his eyes while gazing at the sky.
All she could hear was the occasional owl hooting past the stream, the crickets chirped repeatedly and steadily in the distance. The wind swayed the leaves of the trees beside her, she felt a light breeze on the bare skin of her legs. A shiver like electricity ran up her spine. But in her mind, his voice remained, screaming at her, Ilse! Ilse! She shook her head fiercely, her deep brown curls dancing around her head. His face stayed embedded in her mind, his words searing her with pain. She shouldn't have run away, ignoring his problems for the sake of her own. Even though he had rejected her. It was a cry for help. She saw that now.
"He needs me," She sobbed, this time aloud, sitting up and holding her stomach as if she would fall apart. She swayed back and forth with her head buried in her knees. "He needs me. Moritz. Moritz."
Oh he'll do something terrible. I saw the gun in his back pocket, and yet I did nothing! Her mind screamed. Oh, he needs me now.
Breathing deeply, she picked herself up and began to run. With wind wiping her face, she sprinted through the forest barefoot, and would not stop for anything. She had no breath though. As if she were about to collapse, she fell back into a tree.
"I need him." She whispered to herself, able to catch one stray tear that began to slither down her cheek.
"Moritz! Moritz!" She shrieked, starting to run again, racing past the trees to the clearing where he no doubt remained, with his gun. She came to a deadly halt.
A shot was fired.
And all went silent in the woods.
