I was sick. And being sick meant a Lord of the Rings marathon. Not the typical 'feel good' movies that people tend to watch when sick, but it works all the same. It's been a tradition in my family since before I can remember; my parents had always put the first movie in the player the moment they realised I was sick and not just pulling a sickie. Today I had to do it myself. I moved out of home two weeks after I turned eighteen. I still visit my family home regularly, but being independent is something I love. My name is Caitlyn Marshall and I'm not your typical twenty-one year old girl, I'm a tomboy and I would rather stay at home in my trackies than hit the bars in the city every night. Saying that, I still enjoy a night out with my friends, I would just rather go to the movies and dinner or stay in and order pizza. I was half way through the second movie when I fell asleep with my hand in the popcorn bowl and drooling on my pillow.
Darren was ecstatic. Glee was on a hiatus so he had the next three months to do as he pleased. His first act of temporary freedom? A Lord of the Rings movie marathon. He decided against Harry Potter because he had watched that only the week before and he has to have at least two weeks between watching a long movie series. He popped the first movie in and settled down on his couch with his favourite blanket and a bottle of Sprite.
I shifted in my sleep, the first signs that I was about to slowly awaken. I stretched out and my hands ran over soft spongy material that felt like grass I- wait what, grass? I sat up rather quickly and snapped my eyes open. After a few moments for my eyes to adjust I realised that it was grass I felt and I was in the middle of a gorgeous green forest. Warning sirens started going off in my head. How did I get here? Why am I here? Oh my god I've been kidnapped! All kinds of scenarios were running through my mind. I took a deep breath and took a good look around. I decided that I wasn't in any immediate danger and despite my being a deep sleeper, I knew I would have woken has someone lifted me. I got up and walked towards the cover of the trees. Being in the open was making me uneasy and I felt as if someone was watching me. I was still in the trackies, jumper and orange converse that I had been in when I had fallen asleep and the fresh air was helping clear my blocked nose. Once I reached the dense forest, I heard the sound of running water. Remember Bear Grills I said to myself before I followed the trickling sound. After a good half an hour of walking, I eventually found the water. It was a small stream with clear water flowing over the golden brown pebbles that sat at the bottom, it was beautiful. I crouched down and cupped some water in my hands before gulping it down. It was cold as if it had been in the fridge and it soothed the sore throat I still had the remains of. There was a rustling of leaves behind me, disturbing the peacefulness of the gorgeous forest. I spun around and listened as the rustling became obvious footsteps, at the last minute I jumped behind a tree just to my right. I watched as a short man with a mop of curly dark brown hair, appeared from the direction of the footsteps. He didn't seem to be looking for anything or anyone, and he went straight for the stream the moment he laid his eyes on it. I slowly stepped out from behind the trunk and took a hesitant step towards the man. He looked slightly familiar and when he heard my foot crunch down on the leaves, his head snapped up and his eyes locked with mine. They were a deep green colour with flecks of gold swirling around them. Those eyes I recognize, those eyes belonged to one Darren Criss, Darren Criss was standing before me in the middle of nowhere. What the hell?
