The following is a very cheesy Waka-Amaterasu hurt-comfort/romance one-shot. It is cheesy because I wrote it very late at night and I doubt I was thinking straight. It is a hurt-comfort for Waka because he has a horrible past but no one has written a hurt-comfort about him yet. I think I just might be the first! ^.^ Ah yes…and then there's the matter of my other story (A Dangerous Journey, A Conflict Within)…I'M SO SORRY!!! I KNOW I NEED TO UPDATE IT!!! I'M A BAD AUTHOR BECAUSE I NEGLECTED IT!!! Sorry about that…I'll try to get the story posted soon.
SUMMARY:Waka is sad because, shortly after learning that he in fact is not the last remaining member of the Moon Tribe, the other tribe member (a girl named Kaguya) gets killed in a battle that Waka and Amaterasu participated in. He blames himself for the deaths of his entire tribe.
The Gods' Gift to Me
Waka and Amaterasu sat side by side next to a lake in Agata Forest. Waka was not his arrogant, fruity, sparkly, assured self. He stared blankly at the water.
Ammy nudged him comfortingly as she sat closer. He gave her a very sad smile as he stroked her back.
It's not your fault at all, she told him telepathically.
He shook his head in utter disagreement. "Kaguya died earlier today just hours after meeting me and me realizing that I'm not the last of the Moon Tribe after all. Now I am responsible for killing off my whole entire tribe. Please, ma cherie, I just need some time with no one else around…" Waka begged.
You didn't kill them, Amaterasu corrected, pressing on.
"Well, I let them die." He accidentally let out a sort of whimper as he wallowed in self-guilt. "Ma cherie, please be kind enough to leave…"
But Amaterasu was going to do no such thing. She got even closer and rested her wolfy head on his left shoulder.
"Go AWAY!!!" he shouted uncharacteristically, his patience dwindling. "Just…scat!" He clenched his teeth as he stared down at his feet. He buried his face in his hands as he turned away. Ammy licked his cheek and curled up next to him.
After about a half an hour, he kissed the top of her head (not romantically—just like if you kiss your dog on the head) and lay down right beside her. It was getting pretty dark out.
"In that fight—" Waka started finally, only to get cut off.
…There was nothing you could have done to prevent that imp from ripping out Kaguya's throat, Ammy finished.
"Well, the people on the arc—" he began again, but got interrupted once more.
One can only move so fast, Amaterasu assured. Even the Gods' gift to man. She gave a slight wolf grin.
Waka turned away. "I'm not the Gods' gift to anything," he informed sadly.
Amaterasu shook her head. You are very wrong, Waka. You're the Gods' gift to me.
THE END
See, what'd I tell ya? Cheesy, right? Well, that's what happens when you are up late while sick trying to compose a proper story. Thanks for reading anyway, though. ^-^ As always, review!!!
