Life In Rapture.

Chapter One

He jolted awake from the sound of a rat scurrying on the hard tile floor. He let his eyes slowly adjust to the almost pitch darkness. If it weren't for his incinerate plasmid he would have no way to see in his dark corridor, his own little hidden section of Rapture the city of the future. When hsi eyes finally adjusted to what little light he had he heard his stomach rumble, he ran his hand along the tile floor looking for the Pep bars he had scavenged from the broken vending machine last night along with thirty-two dollars and seventy-cents. He felt around until his hand hit something metallic, he realized what it was without really thinking, it was his best friend, his only friend, his shotgun. He moved his hand off the gun and looked for the Pep bars. He felt around until he finally found what he had been looking for the Pep bar. He picked up the tightly wrapped piece of chocolate, he unwrapped it with little trouble and took a small bite. He savored the the bite for a moment and then took another bite of the chocolate candy. It tasted a bit old but he didn't mind, it may have been poor nourishment but it was still nourishment. He sat there thinking to himself how nice it would've been to have company, but then quickly changed his mind. You see the only company he could think of was of poor quality. The Splicer's. They were a bunch of power hungry, rapists and murderers. He wanted nothing to do with them, so having no company meant he had to entertain himself, a thing that he had learned wasn't too hard. He would usually recollect old memories. But he mostly reminded himself of his situation. Problem one of his list, "I'm at the bottom of the damn ocean with adam craving monsters. Adam is a supplement that boosted your bodies Strength, Stamina, Speed, Reaction time, and your five main senses. It was also really addicting, and the Splicer's craved it. They also weren't above killing a child to get it either. Problem two, he was a carrier of a small amount of adam. Problem three he was almost out of food. Things were indeed grim, yet he never cried or complained, Jonathon just sat there eating through the last of his rations, thankful to have made it this far.
