When I came to, I felt like throwing up.
Where was I?
As I fought the nausea, I reached a hand up and touched my head. It was wet. Someone must have hit me hard.
Where am I? I asked myself as I tried to sit up, which, resulted in me hitting my head on something hard. What was when I realized that I was in a confined space.
A really cold confined space.
"Shit!" I cursed as I felt around, my hands running over smooth and rigid surfaces. I swiftly reached into my pocket without making a sound and pulled out my pen light.
I groaned when I pushed against the door of the freezer with my feet, but, it didn't budge.
It was chained.
I looked down and unbuckled my belt that I had gotten from the office and pulled out the knife that was hidden in it. I angled my body and slipped the knife in where the door met the frame of the appliance. I moved the knife within the crack until I heard the sound of a vacuum.
Air.
Slowly, I moved the knife along the seal, breaking it. I took a deep breath when air came flooding ion. I looked around through the crack in the seal. I was in a room where there were tons of old boxes and junk. But when I started heaving, I realized I would need more air. So, I took one last deep breath before closing the lid. I hit the interior wall numerous times, but that didn't accomplish anything.
I needed to escape.
I heard it shatter, and I gasped when I fell through the floor and cut my leg on the rigid plastic. Soon enough, my feet were both touching the cool concrete followed by the rest of my body. I looked around the room. The windows were boarded up and the door locked.
You are really making me work hard here, Eli. I thought to myself as I bent down and looked at the lock. I took my knife out of my pocket and stuck it in one of the door hinges; I stood up once the screw was out and kicked the door down. When I did, I could hear men shouting in their native language as they came pounding up the stairs, but, by the time they reached the top, I was already gone.
I needed to see him.
My husband.
Anthony DiNozzo.
