The Love I Never Had

Disclaimer: I don't own any Harry Potter characters or Severus Snape for that matter...I wish I did (sigh) oh well. Please review! *means thoughts

In the darkened cemetary, a figure in the shadows puts down flowers on the grave of Lily Evans-Potter. He holds back the tears, knowing that he cannot cry.

*The Love I never had is Lily. She married James Potter, the only woman I've ever loved. I know

Lily loved James so I painfully let her go. Damn Potter, when I look at Potter, all I see are Lily's

green eyes. Those eyes remind me Lily so much and when I see Potter happy, I see Lily happy. I

only wish I could hold her tight in my arms. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard Lily died,

after that I swore revenge on Voldemort for this. He murdered the woman so close to my heart.

My heart still wants you, I still love you always. You'll always have a place in my heart, no matter

what.I'll never forget you, my love. I promise to keep your son safe, I promise to try to keep

Harry safe...*

Severus Snape fell on his knees and cried his heart out. McGonagall walked towards Snape and put a consoling hand on his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry Severus, I know it hurts...to lose the one you love" McGonagall helped the crying man get up.

"I loved her, she was...my everything. To know she's six feet down, to know she'll never watch Harry grow up...to know that she won't be here. She's the love I never had" Snape and McGonagall walk towards the exit of the cemetary.
