Author's note: Another short, random, and short ToS fic from me! The Fiercesomest Dragon Ever!
I don't know what made me think of this; it was just kind of a funny picture I had in my head that wouldn't go away until it was writen. So... here it is!
Disclaimer: I don't own ToS, or the song 'This Love'.
Colette hummed happily to herself, combing her long, blond hair while standing in front of the mirror in front of the little dresser in the room of Zelos's house reserved for the girls for the night.
Sheena, and Presea had gone to the Coliseum to take part in a tournament of some kind, Raine was off marveling at the masonry at the palace, while Zelos was off marveling at the figures of many of the ladies coming and going near the palace. And Regal was… doing… whatever it was Regal did in his free time.
Colette had cheerfully opted to stay behind to enjoy some much-needed quiet time.
She was unaware that two of the other members of the group had stayed behind as well; though for an entirely different purpose.
Anyways, Colette continued combing and humming. She loved the silky feel of her hair along the back of her neck; thus she carefully made sure to keep it tangle-free.
Suddenly, her humming was interrupted by a strange sound coming from the next room over.
"I wonder what that could be?" Colette set her comb on the dresser and went to investigate.
The sound was coming from the boy's bathroom. It sounded suspiciously like singing.
Her curiosity overriding all common sense, Colette went to the door, (which was cracked open), and peered in.
A strange sight met her eyes. Perhaps the strangest she had ever seen.
Lloyd, clad in nothing but his boxer shorts, was standing in front of the mirror, playing massive air guitar on one of Zelos's tennis rackets; creating his own sound affects as he went. This would have been strange enough in itself, but the singing was yet to be explained.
Colette cracked the door open another fraction of an inch.
Now she could see that it was Genis, a towel wrapped about his waist and his hair slicked back with soap and water, wailing into a tube of bubblegum-flavored toothpaste; apparently putting his heart and soul into every off-key note and wrong word of the song,
"This – love – has – taken its toll – on me – she said – goodnight – too many times befo-o-o-ore! Her – heart – is breakin' in fro-ont – of me. An' I have – no choice – 'cause I won't say goodnight anymore!"
"Genis, it's 'goodbye'! Not 'goodnight'!" Lloyd paused in his air guitar-playing to correct his friend.
"Oh. Wow, now that song makes a lot more sense…" Genis cocked his head to the side a little.
"You were singing it, and you didn't even think it made sense?"
Genis shot Lloyd a half-aggravated, half-having-too-much-fun-to-care look, and launched enthusiastically into the second verse.
Colette giggled quietly and retreated back to the girl's room.
Boys. What would life be like without them?
"Oh, shoot. My guitar broke a string… does Zelos keep any glue around here?"
It would be a whole lot duller; that's for sure.
