The wind whipped
around wildly, telling of a bad storm coming.
Anyone who knew
anything about the seas saw it coming long before, and set about
taking shelter in the closest bays they could find.
No ship was
fit for sailing in this storm.
Two girls standing upon a high
cliff face didn't seem to notice any of it, as their long hair was
blown about.
They seemed far more intent on what it was they where
talking about.
The girl speaking had her hair high in twin pigtails, so it wasn't in her face as much as she spoke.
"Do you understand now? This is the only way for me." she pleaded
The other girls face was mostly hidden within her
loose hair, as it blew about freely.
When her face did show
though, for the most part it was a blank mask, with only an almost
showing of pure betrayel and pain in her eyes.
"No, but it's your choice. So go ahead. Go ahead and abandon those who have done so much for you."
"It's the only way. It's to painful for me to stay here. For people like me-"
"For people like you? Painful?" she stopped, looking like she wanted to rant at the pigtailed girl, her blank expression gone for a moment before returning, the pain in her eys now completely hidden,
"Whatever. I'm not stopping you, so stop trying to make excuses so that you can feel better about your actions. You want to forget us? Go ahead and run away from your problems."
The pigtailed girl bit her lip and paused a moment, as if looking for what to say in responce, but the other girl continued before she could say aything,
"Just remember. This is what you wanted, Captain." and with that she turned and walked away, never looking back, ignoring the shouts that came from the pigtailed girl, but never forgetting the words.
All the pigtailed girl
could do was try to yell over the winds as her former friend walked
away.
She knew chasing after would be pointless, their minds had
been made up, but she knew her friend, and knew where her friend was
going.
The furious storm blowing in matched her friends
heart.
The pigtailed girl waited along the cliffs, and watched
the storm come in.
She remained there as it roared around her.
She
was waiting for the last goodbye.
She didn't know what her friend
would tell the crew, but she did know that her last wishes would be
followed out.
A single ship left port in the middle of the
storm, and as it dissapeared from sight, the pigtailed girl turned
and walked slowly away from the turmoil waters.
This was their
final goodbye, she would start anew.
Never seeing her old life
again.
