Afterwards

Burnham looked around his dank waiting cell. 22 million dollars in bearer bonds, he had them in his hands. Now lost forever. Now he was facing manslaughter charges and breaking and entering, plus a few other charges. He could have gotten away, he could have gotten his kids back, but no. He had to go back to save the girl and her mother from that bastard Raoul. God, it would have been smooth sailing if Junior had just gotten the info right and they had gone before the people moved in. Now he'd never get his kids back and would be lucky to not spend the rest of his life in jail. Not to mention the hell he had put that family threw. He deserved this, he deserved this for his greed leading him to doing what he did. The guard went to the cell.

"Your lawyers here." He told Burnham. He then led Burnham while he was handcuffed to a secure room were his lawyer sat at a rectangular steel table. He was sat on a chair at the table and the guard left the room locking the door behind them.

"I will admit, things aren't looking great." Burnham's lawyer Mr. Jennings said. Great, he had sure made the right choice in a lawyer eh? "We should testify you where under a lot of emotional stress due to the recent divorce. Plus we do have something that help the jury rule in your favor." Burnham was surprised to hear that. What could he possible have?

"The Altman girl Sara has agree to testify that you saved her and her parents lives when you killed Raoul."

AN: Just a small taste of what to come. I'll post the next chapter real soon.
