Disclaimer: I claim no rights to Doctor Who or the TARDIS
A/N: I am sure that most know that the series Doctor Who must end at some point, and if I were totally insane I would claim that this very short one shot from the view of the TARDIS was channeled from the TARDIS itself as it watches the final grains of sand slip through the Doctor's hourglass. This is my first and possibly only submission to this section and only my second fanfic I have ever written.
I stand there and watch the final moments of a man who many could call the protector of many and belonging to none. His final moments mark mine as well, for when he is gone I will eventually cease to exist. He and I are the last of our kind, I have been with him over a long period of time and have seen into his very soul. I cannot say that I fully understand what I have seen as I know little about a humanoid's emotions, yes on several occasions he has tried to help me wrap my consciousness around this concept with little to no success. We have seen all of the cosmos, the beginning of time, before time and even after time ended. We have made it through it all and although we have changed we always remain the same. Many others have passed us by over the ages it seems they are around only for a brief moment before they are heading on to lead their lives. Few have wandered where I am housed, and those who have reached that far have been forever changed, I cannot say in what ways for it is always different. If I were to go into the travels and adventures we have been on it would take a lifetime and more to tell our tale. I would prefer to keep these precious few moments that we have left together a private thing between two eternally linked so I will finish by saying this, "Farewell, Doctor, it has been a great honor to escort you through space and time and I do hope that I have served you well."
