Disclaimer: I don't own Fruits Basket

In a cold frosty morning,

There was a woman gardening.

A man carefully watching

While the ground was hardening.

Twirling around and round

Planting seeds one by one.

"Look at our future harvest!"

He stared at the frozen hardened ground.

Starting at the tiny vegetable and flower seeds,

"Psh it's winter they won't survive."

The woman fidgeted with her fingers,

"Hey! They so will live I'll show you jerk!"

The man was silent for a while but then,

Grabbed her hand, and ran into the house.

Warm and cozy it was for a few months;

The awakened animals were furry.

Spring came in such a hurry.

A new treasure was finally outside,

Twirling, prancing, and skipping

"Look! I told you they'd grow!"

In disappointment he hung his head low.

Spring was then ending until…

"Look Papa! Look at all the flowers!"

All year one flower was growing,

Every single year it grew.

He was happy to see the flower

And so was the woman.

"Here…nooo! Papa you dropped your tulip!"

The tulip was pretty, "Do you like them?"

"Yeah, they're my favorite type!"

His little tulip, a flower that hasn't bloomed

A flower that isn't a bulb anymore

A flower that is sweet and kind

Always smiling, the woman laughed

"Ok, next year we'll buy some more"

Her little grin grew wider and wider

And her name was

Tohru.
