My name is Sergey, i am 11 years old,
and i just survived a bloody conflict.
I am now looking for my little brother Oleg.
This is my story:
DAY 1
after the cease fire came into affect, i left to find Oleg.
On the 28th day Oleg send me a message trough one of the radio stations.
"well, it seems we have a message for 'Papa Bear' from 'Night Owl' bedtime is six o'clock sharp, and the table is set."
which means he found a loving home, in the largest city in the south, and they are waiting for me.
You see, Oleg and i made up our own code, if the table had been cleared they were poor, Twelve o'clock would mean north, and night time would have been a bad home. And i think Oleg has left me a message in the town square, that wasn't in the code, that's just what he does.
After half an hour of walking, i was happy to catch a ride with a truck filled with people. They were going south, so i went with them.
It took a few days, dropping people off
and picking others up.
It was quite a journey, and i enjoyed every minute of it, on the third day i saw Misha again. His parents were with him as they went to see his grandparents. They thanked me for what we had done for their son.
Him and i talked about a thousand and one things.
And about thirty hours later we said our good-bye's.
Late evening of the fourth day, the truck broke down,
so we had to swap it for two pick-up trucks. At least it had a large truck-bed, lots of leg room.
One pick-up truck went to the southwest, while the other went south east.
On the fith day, i arrived. They actually were nice enough to drop me of at the town square.
After a short search, i found a drawing of a owl and a open padlock to its right, following the open locks i came upon a closed one, with a watch next to it. 19:20 it read.
I drew a old fashion key underneath the lock, along with the word "bedtime." and with that i went to an ally to my
six o'clock. I had gotten a pocket watch from Misha's father, so i knew Oleg had already checked today.
With my sleepingbag keeping me warm i used my coat as a pillow.
The next morning a security guard shook me awake.
"Goodmorning sleepy head." he said smiling.
"You want a cup of soup? Grab your things, there is a bathroom at the end of the hall. I will have that cup of soup ready for you when you're done."
i drew a quick closed padlock on the wall, the security guard gave me a questioning look. "i am waiting for someone." i explained quickly. "this way they know i am still here." i said going inside.
The bathroom was very welcome.
And the soup tasted good.
I thanked the man and went outside.
Barely out the door i was tackled by a hyper-excited Oleg SERGEY! He yelled, smiling from ear to ear. I took his hand and said:
"hey there little brother, did you mis me?"
He nodded his head.
"I missed you to." i said, as i pulled him into a bear hug.
"you're crushing me Sergey." he said after a few moments.
He dragged me towards a waiting couple.
"Sergey, meet the Solbatov's, our parents.
Mom, dad, this is my brother Sergey,
i will go wherever he goes."
the man smiled. "Which is home, with us. Let's go boys."
he said, leading us towards our street. I'm finally going home. I put my arm around Oleg, and he put his around my waist.
And i, Sergey Solbatov, am happy.
